Scott Cullen is the soul and essence of Jenkinstown Motors. He has been putting smiles on his customer's faces for over 30 years with straight talk and well-earned trust. When you come in to get your car serviced at "Jenkinstown, " we want you to feel taken care of. Concern for our customers really is our first priority.
Not only are we concerned for your vehicle and the safety of you and your family, but we're also concerned about your "wallet." We're not going to sell you anything that you don't need and we don't use sales gimmicks to get you in the door. The Toyota Dealer in Kingston, NY told me I needed new rear brakes on my 06 Matirix ASAP! - That was almost 30,000 miles ago and Scott tells me I still have time left on my rear brakes.

Services
We are primarily a car repair shop specializing in Japanese auto repair, and occasionally we have used cars for sale. People are holding on to their Toyotas, Hondas and Subarus a lot longer for the simple fact that they last! At present we are only selling cars we purchase from our customers. These are vehicles that we know are road worthy because we have been the ones doing the service.

Scott, the owner of Jenkinstown Motors, is one of the few folks that put the customer first without hesitation. I could cite numerous examples, but this review would go on for too long. Firstly, if you own a Japanese car, don't even consider bringing it anywhere else. Scott is a trained expert on them. But even if you own another brand, you can still experience the peace of mind that your vehicle is being serviced properly, and you're being treated with the respect we all hope to receive, but too often don't.

I went to two local garages to get an estimate to fix my 2013 Subaru Outback air-conditioning (cold air coming from passenger side vents only). One garage told me it was too big of a job for them - the other told me it would cost over $2,000 because they had to remove the entire console and it would take two days to fix. I then brought my Subaru to Jenkinstown for one last estimate. Jenkinstown fixed the problem in 10 minutes (forced air into vent and popped open a "stuck" vent door) Cost me around $100 with the labor. I'm extremely grateful to have honest, polite, professional service in the New

I had my GT500 Shelby worked on by a "recommended" shop in Connecticut who incorrectly installed a performance H pipe. I knew it had an exhaust leak just like my Nissan GTR done by the same shop. I took it to Jenkinstown and sure enough, there were two gigantic leaks on the rear section of the exhaust on the car. This place correctly diagnosed the problem and carefully replaced the stock midpipe with 02 sensors in two hours. They even made sure the midpipe did not displace the muffler endpipe into the differential, which was another problem with the shop in Connecticut ( the self

We were in town for some business and our Subaru had a headlight out as noted by a New York State Trooper who was very polite and courteous. I told him I would get it repaired the next day. The next day I googled Subaru and Jenkinstown Motors appeared. So after dropping off my wife for her business. I went over to Jenkinstown Motors, it was about 7:45am and a friendly man was outside doing some maintenance on the driveway. I told him my problem, and he replied if I could return at 8:15 when his men start and they would get me in. Well as it turned out this man was the owner of Jenkinstown Motors

Every time I get into my car I think how grateful I am for Jenkinstown Motors for keeping me safe and sound. Scott was so helpful and understanding and a pleasure to work with. I needed some major repair work done on my Honda Element last year and he came highly recommended. With a new engine and new brakes…. It feels like a new car again! After traveling over 5,000 miles, it’s still driving exceptionally well. Thanks Scott and all the mechanics who worked on my Honda!

I tend to buy my cars new and keep them for a very long time, so while I use the dealership to maintain them for the first several years, after they're out of warranty I have other options. And even though I have a bias toward using a mechanic who specializes in one particular kind of car, I've had great results at Jenkinstown. When my 1997 Mazda Miata needed a new top, Scott did a really good job replacing it (I've driven it at highway speeds through the rain, and not a single leak!). And I've found that his advice is reliable and trustworthy. The first time I came to a Jenkinstown it was for

Trustworthy, Kind mechanic. Scott is a great person, who does timely work, and will really make sure you understand what is happening to your car, why, and will talk through how to get the most out of your money.
Example- I broke down in the middle of Virginia- Brakes stuck. Scott talked me through what the problem was, and then helped me figure out if a different shop could do the job effectively, and talked me through the pricing- just because I am a customer. He knew he would not get the job, but gave me sound advice regardless.
Great mechanic, straight up.

Scott and his team are the best! I took my used Lincoln to them for a routine inspection two years after I bought the car and it was a mess! They fixed me up with tires and brakes and everything else. I had been robbed in buying the car, but not in getting it up to par at Jenkinstown Motors. My husband pass away three years ago and I have felt that I've not received a fair deal, especially from people who deal in cars, since then. Scott is the first auto person who was sincerely kind and compassionate. He is a professional who does excellent work and he does not overcharge. I recommend him highly

I drove 500 miles to New Paltz, NY to find housing because I am moving to the area. I knew my car needed to have the exhaust replaced when I left home, but was told by mymechanic that it could wait. So, I waited and then it waited until NY to become a problem. I Yelped Honda and Jenkinstown Motors came up. The receptionist had me come in right away and within an hour they identified the problem, gave me an estimate and GAVE me a loaner car - I repeat - GAVE me a loaner car. Prior to settling on giving me a loaner car, they offered to drive me to the place I am staying. I told them that I am here

Nasty customer service!!!
Just got off the phone with Scott and was flabbergasted at his rudeness! I called to get pricing on a 90k service and asked what it covered. First time I called no one called me back. I called again and finally spoke to Scott. He gave me pricing but since it was a bit high for what I can afford right now, I called back to get pricing on just replacing the spark plugs and pcv valve. He wouldn't give me a price on the pcv valve and instead just sounded very annoyed and said, "Ya know what? No thank you. I'm at the point now where it's a "no thank

I've been bringing my Honda and my Subarus to Scott for the past couple of years now. In short, he provides straight-up customer service from the good ol' days. Great for your regular maintenance visits, since they check your car for possible issues in advance, without up-selling or pressuring you. Standard repairs, inspections and, yes, tire service, too.
Trust your mechanic? Well, I sure trust Scott and his crew. Highly recommend.
