Got my car in same day for an oil change and tire patch. No complaints here.

My first experience and they did a great job. I think you can tell a lot about a service station with the simple jobs they do like oil change and tire rotation. They had me come in this morning as soon as I could get there, they took my car right away and within about 30 minutes the oil was changed the tires were rotated and I answered all my questions. They were quick and efficient. I saw about three or four other customers come and go within that time and each one was taken care of quickly. Good job guys.

We use them for Oil changes and annual inspections. They are pretty quick and friendly. Have not used them for any repairs, but I would give them a chance.

We showed up there without an appointment and no idea what was wrong with the car. The owner came out immediately and diagnosed it. They brought it inside the shop and put a new battery in and we were ready to go in 20 minutes.

This is probably one of the few places that you can trust that the job will be done correctly and you will not be taken advantage of. We have been bringing our vehicles here for many years and truly trust the owner. He is really a good and honest guy!!

Over the summer I got my battery replaced. Recently, I brought my car to a different mechanic and discovered that the battery wasn’t in correctly. The whole apparatus was rusted and the battery wasn’t secured to the engine. A mechanic who can’t install a battery should be ashamed of themselves.

I thought I heard a weird sound under my hood and they said I could come right in. They were clearly busy but a mechanic took it for a spin, put it on lifts to check the chassis, looked under the hood...found nothing wrong. The owner Ravi then personally took me for a drive to reassure me and explain what I was hearing. Didn't charge me a dime for their time/effort, or laugh at my paranoia! Highly recommended for their honesty and integrity. Thank you!

Went for simple differential fluid change. Over filled the diffs even when I advised them otherwise. Also mysteriously one of my O2 sensors had a hammer mark and needed to be replaced right after visiting the shop....

BEWARE!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!! I wish i could give this place negative stars. Most dishonest/unprofessional people Ive ever dealt with. All they had to do was fix the U-joint in my Jeep. After ONE day, it broke off on the highway. When i asked about warranty, the all the mechanic said to me was "yesterday, I saw you driving up and down the road, I DID MY JOB". He charge me double for what mechanic would have at home. And didnt even do the job right! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DONT GIVE THIS TERRIBLE MECHANIC ANYMORE BUSINESS!!!

Newman, who may have been the owner(?), was SO cool!! I got my first flat tire overnight and was so overwhelmed when I realized the culprit to my car shaking on the road. Thankfully, I was only half a mile from this shop and managed to drive myself there, as to avoid towing fees. This guy was so helpful, and despite not being the most expressively friendly person I’ve met, he was so thoughtful and caring and fixed my broken right windshield wiper without charging me for it. I was losing a very little anti- freeze and had some anti-freeze spray under my hood. I thought I may have a radiator leak. Took it to Main St Auto. I was told I needed a new water pump at a cost of $250 plus parts, etc. I wasn't losing a lot of anti-freeze so I said, "Let me think about it". I asked around, did some research online and learned I only needed a new radiator cap. $4 for a new cap was all I needed! I have had no leak or spray for almost a year now. $4 or $250 plus? What would you do?

We were visiting New Paltz for a day trip yesterday and had some difficulty with our car engine racing and overheating. An employee at the restaurant where we had a family get together recommended Main Street Auto, so we went there, were seen immediately. We did not have any work done (will do that back home) but the owner (I believe) was very generous with his time and gave us his analysis and some tips, enough to get us back on the road confidently and back home 100 miles away. We were grateful for the owner's expertise. I'd give 5 stars but our experience was pretty simple and brief

This place sucks. I got shady vibes from the owner and when I brought my car in for inspection. He told me that I couldn't pass unless I got the tint taken off my windows. My windows barely had any tint but I trusted him (big mistake). I got my car back and my windows wouldn't open because he left all the adhesive on them. I paid him to take the tint off and he didn't care enough to finish the job. I had to go back with rubbing alcohol just so I could open my windows. He's a hack and a lazy slob. Do yourself a favor and don't ever go here.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Brought in my car after my tire started leaking. Owner seemed helpful and genuine at first. I noticed right away after I came back to get the car that both front rims had massive gashes/scratches along the center. They consistently denied responsibility, even though I have pictures to prove it. After some polishing, most of the residue wore off, but there is certainly new scratches that I don't see going away any time soon. This is absolutely unbelievable that they thought they could get away with this. This isn't no cheap beater, these people ruined the front rims

Me and my family have been going to main street auto for over 10yrs and have never had a problem. Service is always fast and reliable. They are honest people. I'm a local to New Paltz and I highly recommend this place for service and questions.

A few people had warned me about this place and I wish I had listened. I went in just for the state inspection. They insisted they would not pass me unless I bought new tires (from them, of course). My tires were fairly new and the tread still looked good. I suspected I was being had, and indeed when I got home and measured with calipers the tires were at least as good as the minimum tread depth everywhere I checked. I guess if you tried real hard maybe you could have found one spot that was only barely 2/32. But clearly they were hoping to fail me in order to sell me tires that I didn&apos
