At Clifton-Centreville Animal Clinic (CCAC), we believe in providing comprehensive care for our patients. Our goal is to improve both pets' and owners' quality of life. Good care begins with regular Wellness Exams for kittens and puppies so that they receive all their necessary vaccines and have a healthy start in life.
No matter what stage of life your pet is in, regular visits will help maintain their health and build a foundation for years. Wellness Care begins with your puppy's or kitten's first visit, where they get initial vaccines and physical exams. We will work with you to help you select vaccines and identify a healthy diet and habits for your new family member.
When your pet needs surgery, we offer a range of routine surgical services, including spaying and neutering, tumor removal, and other soft tissue surgeries. A dedicated technician monitors anesthesia and records vital signs, ECG readings, and pulse oximetry during every surgery. And, to help ensure a smooth recovery, our surgeons use the latest techniques in anesthesia and pain management so that the patient is as comfortable as possible.
Dirty teeth can cause worse conditions than bad breath: a dental infection can damage your pet's body, including their heart and kidneys. Routine dental care plays a vital role in maintaining your pet's health. If your pet's teeth need to be cleaned, we offer complete dental cleanings under anesthesia with an ultrasonic scaler.
Good nutrition is the basis of good health. Every pet is unique, so during our exam we evaluate each pet's weight and fitness and talk to you about your pet's eating habits and lifestyle. Many chronic health conditions, such as allergies, can be managed with the right prescription diet. Unfortunately, obesity is one of the most common diseases affecting out pets, and it can lead to worse conditions.

Doctor Blackwood is seriously the best vet I have ever met and has been a Godsend for my chocolate lab who has had a rough year. I am thankful we live in NOVA, as I feel she is truly the best vet there is. She is caring, compassionate, and really loves the dogs the way you want to see your pet cared for. She knows what she’s doing and is incredibly knowledgeable in her field and so responsive. Not sure what kind of awards there are for vets, but Dr. Blackwood deserves every single one of them. Thank you so much for all you have done for our pup!

My husband and I have only been using Clifton-Centreville Animal Clinic for the past 4-months but I only have positive things to say about the staff and vets! We have a 6-month old golden retriever and today we needed to see the vet ASAP for a bee sting and allergic reaction. The team got us in as quickly as they could and took good care of her. They made me feel at ease and kept me up to date on how she was doing. Being a vet is one of the hardest jobs, so many of us pet owners love our pets as children and part of the family that it can be scary when you don't know what's wrong with them or how

I started going to this practice when Dr. Netchirt was the owner. He was amazing. Recently, I took my 10 week old puppy to Dr. Blackwood. Although I'm sure she's competent, she disregarded almost everything our competent breeder advised. She told me that Victor dogf ood was recalled. It was not. As a matter of fact, it has one of the highest rated among dog foods. Her vaccine schedule, and neutering schedule was disregarded research and studies about waiting for full growth. I was not confident that she is up-to-date on new research for dogs. I will not be going back.

My elderly pit bull had a small surgery here and I was SO impressed. From the friendly and accommodating front desk, to the friendly and sensible doctor, to the surgeon who did a nice and efficient job removing a tumor. Prices were much better than my usual vet in Arlington and I never felt pressured to perform excessive tests. Dr. Henderson listened to my concerns about avoiding excessive testing and procedures in my 13yo dog and was super respectful while she helped to achieve a great outcome. Very friendly staff! Since this was our first visit with our kittens, it was very helpful that the doctor had us on the phone and let us know all the way thru their examinations. Their office hours are so convenient for those, like me, that work until late. When I made the appointment, they were very flexible with the scheduling.
