We had a delightful stay here over Thanksgiving 2021. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the park itself is well-maintained, and beautifully positioned on Hatteras. An easy walk, bike, or drive to many restaurants and shops, and beautiful sunsets. We loved our sound-side campsite. The sites were spacious enough to not feel like we were right on top of each other, and we found the roads wide and easy to navigate with our 32' travel trailer getting in and out. And the sunsets...oh the sunsets!! The only downer was the little prickly brambles in the grass that got caught in our dog's fur

Very clean, quiet campground with a fantastic staff (special shout-out to Greg and his wife) Everyone was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We went after Labor Day (October 9-15) and the beaches were nearly empty. Unfortunately, it was a little too cool to get in the ocean.

Had a great time here. Stayed for a few nights. Plenty of activities. Good fishing. And great staff. The sites are on the small side but all have full hookup. The WiFi was awful but who cares. The tv reception was awful even on cable. Again who cares. The campers were friendly and other than the occasional camper using a site as a shortcut people were quiet and respectful. We will definitely go back. The drive down was easy and on this weekend the traffic was light. So if you plan to visit Hatteras Island and do so in an RV you should seriously consider Camp Hatteras.

Beautiful RV resort. We leveraged laundry room and we're happy with it. Beaches are great for walking barefoot. Great cell reception. Wifi is not good but that's pretty much expected at RV parks. The beach makes up for it. Recommend Ocean side if you can. You can't see the ocean from the spot but you can hear the waves crashing. I went on top of camper and got some nice pictures of sunrise.

We stayed here over Labor Day Weekend. We really can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff throughout the weekend. We have 3 boys (7, 9, and 12) that all enjoyed the planned activities. The campground is clean and peaceful, even on this holiday weekend. This should definitely be on your annual list of places to visit.

This is a very nice OBX campground with part of the campground on the ocean side of the road and the other on the sound side. We had a sound front site with amazing views! I think the sound front sites are the best sites offered at this campground!
Our children especially enjoyed the various amenities offered: the pool, playground, and mini golf.
The only negatives I can really say are that this type of RV resort is pretty crowded with campers, so that leads to crowded shared spaces like the pool and the beach access. We prefer a more peaceful, less populated beach so we ended up driving elsewhere

It was ok. I paid extra for the site beachfront but you didn't see any of the ocean. You saw sand dunes. I wish I stayed on the bay side to see the water. I would never have paid extra for a site to look at dunes. Not many activities for the kids. A movie outdoor would be nice. The pools are very basic. A slide would even make it a little better. Like I stated it was ok. Would probably go to another campground down the road next time.

This campground is awesome! Great dog park, so happy there were both indoor and outdoor pools (especially the day after getting sunburned- you want to hit that indoor pool!). Lots of outdoor games, the playground was great and it's awesome they have property on both the beach and sound side. There are two beach access points, but I recommend the one on the pavilion side- that is much more convenient and you basically have a wooden path up to the beach. Highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!

This was our first stay with the folks at Camp Hatteras. We made reservations for next year about two days into our stay. The staff was so friendly and warm that you felt like family. They had great activities for all ages and the campground was very neat and clean. We met several really great folks and hope to continue Camp Hatteras as a yearly tradition. This vacation ranks in our top two of all time. Thanks for everything and we will see you in 2022.

There is no statement on their website about their pool being closed. Their website also made the camp "resort" seem amazing and luxurious, when it is the complete opposite. There are barely any trees or spots for shade to be found on the premisses. The staff was quite rude and left something to be desired. I will not be coming back here.

Horrific customer service and the worst reservation communication we've ever experienced at any RV Resort or Campground. There are a TON of other options available in the area and you will be FAR better off reserving at a different place (we wish we did). Their website is not accurate describing amenities, emails after reserving are misleading (and totally inaccurate) and staff is extremely rude and flippant when communicating with guests. Management takes a very nonchalant attitude when confronted with issues and refuses to deliver any type of solution for problems presented. We'll be

Don't try to get there before 1:00 check-in. We arrived at 12:15 and had to turn our camper around and go sit down the road and wait. Kind of hard to do with a camper and kids after being on the road for 6 hours. We were given our site and it was not on the road they told me on the phone a week earlier. My husband went inside and tried to change it but not a chance. The people we were camping with had open sites around them so I know it could have been changed. Definitely could be more accommodating!

Our family has camped here for over ten years and loved every trip until this year. There is an employee named Rick aka gestapo wanna be mall cop. The said employee believes he has right to come up into a site and make comments like I'm in control or I'm going to call the police at 10:30 PM. Yes, quiet hour starts at 10pm, but you can still be outside enjoying the time with your friends. As a person who deals in customer service, you do not degrade or talk down to paying customers. We are booked for next year, but will reassess next year, especially if this individual is an employee.

The location is amazing! You have the ocean on side and sound on the other, what's not to love? Well let me fill you in, first they advertise free WiFi as one of their amenities, which you'll soon find out you have to go to a conference room, it's not available at you camp site.
Social distancing; apparently they have never heard of Covid-19. You're packed in so tight you can hear people's conversations. If you want to camp in a parking lot, I guess you'd be very happy here.

Worst camping trip ever! Might have been ok if the weather hadn't been a torrential rain storm. This park FLOODS! It was a mess. Couldn't get to my vehicle without walking through (underwater) muddy grass....with 2 boys and a husband you can just imagine what my truck floors and trailer look like. The wind picked up, blew my hat off into a super mud pit, so that's in the garbage, same fate for my brand new rug that I was trying to dry out. I'll be checking out a different park if I ever decide to return to this area.

We were scheduled to visit this camp site; unfortunately, my daughter got sick 4 days before our trip. I called the campsite to let them know of the situation. They were so polite and caring. They handled the situation great!!!! I would highly recommend this site on their customer service alone!!! Hope to get back there soon..

The Takeaway: vast sandy stretches of beach on the unparalleled OBX offer a inimitable vacation experience. The park stretches from oceanside to soundside in a quiet area of the OBX away from the vacation dense populations of Nags Head to the north and Avon to the south. Level concrete pads with patio, FHU, strong 50 amp electrical, and cable. WiFi is good and supports streaming. There are some very good local restaurants and seafood markets in Waves, Manteo and Avon; all worth driving to. And there are 5 lighthouses from Oracoke to Corolla to explore and climb. We visited September 2017 and July

This is an awesome place to stay! We come here every year and absolutely love it! We got chased out by the hurricane this year and the owner was very easy to deal with and we were able to re-book next year using the credit (they did offer a refund, but we knew we would be coming back).
The sites are real close to the beach and the pools and hot-tub are a nice touch.
If there is one negative it would be the WiFi. The signal is almost non-existent on the campground. The clubhouse has a good signal, but they should put a better WiFi on the grounds.

A great campground with options of Oceanside or soundside spots. The bath houses are clean and the beach is only a short walk away if staying on soundside. There is ample beach parking and bike rack space if biking to the beach. Spots are close together but not so much so that you can't enjoy yourself. Sunsets are to die for so we prefer to stay on that side for the cheaper rate anyway. Super dog friendly too! Only downside is the WiFi is nonexistent but I really don't come to the beach for WiFi so it's not a deal breaker. Highly recommend!

This is the perfect Outer Banks RV Campground.
We stayed in the sound side and the views were breathtaking. The spaces gave you room to feel alone and the spots were dead level.
The employees were fun, helpful and very nice. The bathrooms, laundry rooms and common areas were immaculate
The outdoor pool was a great spot to swim and get some sun. There are piers to fish on and gear access on the beach side.
It is located in a great spot with a space to rent boats and wave runners right next door!
Felt like home to us! We will be back annually

I normally dont leave reviews. But with such a bad temper Mr. Tom has at this place it needs to be known.
Had reservations for labor day weekend. My wife calls to cancel them and speaks to a nice lady on the phone. She checks her email and the dates and the amount didnt line up with our reservations. So she calls back and gets Mr. Tom. He was very rude to her and had a bad attitude. He didnt get our problem fixed and prolly wont get our deposit back either. Mind you we are ~ 3 weeks from the time were suppose to check in.
For this we will never stay here again. Thanks Mr.Tom.

Great place to park the RV. We stayed on the bay side waterfront 2 weeks before the season started and were essentially all alone. The sunsets were amazing with no dunes blocking the water view like they do on the oceanfront. Staff were very friendly and many places within walking distance to eat, snack or drink. Next time I come I will most likely bring my kayaks as you can drop straight in the water from the site we were in. There is a large room with cards, games, tv, ect that we only saw at check-in but would be a nice place to hangout if weather took a nosedive it just wanted a change of

Great RV park, right on the beach and the sound. If you want to see the Outer Banks, this is the place to stay. Would be 5 stars except their "free WiFi" is useless. Third time here, both off season and on season, and can never get a reliable connection. So if WiFi is important to you, you may want to try the KOA down the road.

Overall nice campground. As to be expected with an oceanfront campground, the sites are very close together. On their website they advertise as having oceanfront sites at a premium cost, but in reality they are not oceanfront. There is a street and parking area in between the sites and the ocean. Also, no view of the ocean just the dunes. Seems like the bay side would be better with water views. Not sure as we were "oceanfront". The campground is pretty quite even though it is jam packed full. It is very pet friendly, which is very much appreciated. The staff was friendly and
