Located on the Pamlico Sound on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Frisco Woods Campground is your waterfront destination. Whether you're looking for a great family getaway or a romantic weekend, we can accommodate all your camping and lodging needs. We offer 30-50 amp service for RV camping, secluded campsites for your tent or pop-up and, for the not so adventurous, we offer camping cabins with electricity and air conditioning.
Many water sports enthusiasts find their way to our campground for our location and convenience. We have a large waterfront launching area for kiting, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, jet skis, small boats, or sail boats. There is something for everyone with on-site rentals and on-site kiteboard and windsurf instruction through local certified instructors.

Services
Frisco Woods Campground is on Hatteras Island on highway 12 between Buxton and Hatteras Village. If you come from the south by ferry, take the Cedar Island Ferry to Ocracoke Island and then the Ocracoke to Hatteras Island free ferry. We are about 4 miles north of the Village of Hatteras on highway 12.

We are unable to show pictures of every site due to the size of our campground and number of sites. With over 250 sites, we can offer a variety of camping options. Our large tent site choices are primitive, electric and water or soundfront electric and water. Our pop-up sites include electric and water, full hook-up, full hook-up soundfront or soundfront electric and water.
One Room Cabins=2 full beds or 1 full bed and 1 twin bunk, Two room Cabins= 1 full bed and 2 sets of twin bunk beds in a separate room. They have air conditioner, lights, electrical outlets inside and park style charcoal grill, picnic table & water spigot outside. They do not have bathroom or kitchen facilities and you must provide your own bed linens.
Refunds - No cash or credit refunds will be given for campers who wish to check out prior to their pre-paid registered check-out date. The facilities are furnished solely for the convenience of our guests. All persons using these facilities do so at their own risk. Management is not responsible for accidents, injury, or loss of personal property due to weather conditions, fire, theft, or vandalism.

I went to the Halloween party at the campground and had a great time. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The restrooms are new and very clean. So is the bathhouse for the pool. Fabulous water views as it is located right on Pamlico Sound. They have nicely equipped cabins with air conditioning or you can bring a camper or RV (full hookups). Or just bring a tent. The fabulous beaches of Hatteras Island are within walking distance. Highly recommended!

Beautiful campground located on the sound. They have plenty of trees for shade to escape the sun and enjoy every part of the camping experience even when you are in a tent. They offer tent, camper, or cabin options. The cabins are cute but my cousin said the twin bed bunkbeds were pretty hard. The shower houses are very nice with some even having air conditioning and tiled flooring. My aunt and uncle have been coming here for like 15 years and I love to come when I can. Its the perfect beach campground and I would continue to return!

The pictures on their website do this place no justice! The views here are amazing! The sunsets are gorgeous! And the staff is very helpful and friendly! Had a great time while we stayed here. I can't wait to go back next year! We had an equally great experience with the other campers there as well! Everyone was so friendly and everything was awesome! You can buy a pass to drive on the beach so if your going to the beach, and don't want to carry all your stuff, that is most definitely worth the $50!

What an excellent place. Best campground we’ve ever been to. First of all, the location is great in its own way. Since it’s toward the south end of Hatteras, it is a pretty long drive to the regular tourist spots of Kitty Hawk. But, the area really gives you the feeling of being an islander, not just a tourist. Access to National Park beaches is only about a half mile down the road.
As for the campground, it’s excellent. The camp store is the best I’ve been to. Great selection of necessities and souvenirs. They have rental canoes and SUP available, but if you can bring our own, the sound

1st time at this Campground & was very pleased! We stayed in the 2 room cabin. The cabin was clean and air conditioned, with trees around for shade. We did bring a fan with us and it was needed, as the a/c unit doesn't cool both rooms very well. I would suggest a ceiling fan being installed or additional a/c unit, but still better than a tent. The Campground is very quiet and all the amenities were great! We will definitely be back!

What a great place to stay! Fantastic and helpful staff, well maintained, and amazing location. We stayed in one of the cabins with air conditioning. They're pretty basic but they're clean and serve their purpose well. Bathrooms are nice and well kept. Can't beat the sunsets! Definitely planning another visit!
