Trusha Apolinario is the founder and owner of Tru Pilates. She teaches a meditative, mindful and challenging style of Pilates that emphasizes breath work, core strength and mind-body connection. Trusha also applies the time-honored benefits of yoga into her Pilates sessions, creating an innovative style that not only helps to tone and shape the body but also relaxes and calms the mind.
Joseph Pilates (1883-1963) was a German-born gymnast, dancer, and trainer who developed his comprehensive approach to fitness over a lifetime of research. Though his system of exercise has only recently broken into the mainstream, Pilates originally created it at the turn of the 20th century.
During the early 1900s, Joseph Pilates drew from martial arts, dance, yoga, and acrobatics to create a fitness regime that strengthened both the body and mind.He believed that mental and physical health were interrelated and that intense mental focus or "firing" of specific muscles would bolster mind-body connection and boost one's overall wellness.

I started working with Trusha in December of 2014. Her instruction has done so much to help me rehabilitate a neck/shoulder injury, as well as improve my overall wellness.

In April of 2015, I started a search for a Pilates instructor to change up my workout routine. What I didn't realize was that finding Trusha would change me -- she provides not only an amazing opportunity to improve your physical fitness, but she creates an environment that supports mental well-being as well. Trusha cares deeply about her clients and is a tremendous source of positive energy. All of our sessions are a wonderful balance of intense postures and strength-building, peppered with laughs and loving advice. Most days, the 50 mins fly by and I leave feeling refreshed with a big smile

Tru Pilates is my first experience with one on one Pilates instruction. I have taken a lot of Pilates mat classes in my life and I have to say privates are the way to go. Trusha is awesome and so knowledgable. She really listens to what your goals are and tailors your workouts to meet them. I have scoliosis and Trusha helps to support different areas of my body so that I am in better alignment during workouts.... something that never happens in mat classes. I can't recommend her enough!

Trusha is TRULY an amazing pilates instructor, health and wellness coach, and inspirational human. Getting back into shape after a year long injury was a terrifying and overwhelming thought, but after a few short weeks, I realized I wasn't scared anymore--and I was already starting to not only feel better, but to THINK better too. Tru Pilates has definitely helped me make changes in my life for the better, and I would recommend them to anyone needing some extra help getting there!

My experience at TruPilates was honestly one of the best workouts I've ever had. I was slow to each pose at first but Trusha was patient and supportive, so I felt really comfortable. She answered all of my questions (I asked a lot!) in ways that made sense, and I really appreciated that. I was sore for 2-3 days after my first class, but it was the best kind of sore. I actually felt the benefits of the work I put in, and can't wait to go back to see how my flexibility and strength improves!
