I'm a dermatologist with a medical degree from Temple University, a master's degree of public health in epidemiology from George Washington University and board certification from the American Academy of Dermatology. I have a brick-and-mortar office in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey and I currently offer telemedicine-based services in several states across the United States.*

Most medical concerns can be diagnosed via telemedicine, and virtual cosmetic consultations can save you a trip to the office. I can call in prescriptions to your preferred pharmacy after these sessions as well.
Unlike short-lived skin reactions, chronic conditions such as acne or embarking on a new skincare regimen that addresses your unique skin concerns involves more than one appointment. Follow-up is key for optimal results, and my "programs" offer a comprehensive approach to achieving healthy skin. Walking into a doctors office knowing the doctor looks like me, already gives me a boost of confidence and comfortability. Dr B is my GO TO doctor. I was seeing her for a while before moving to LA, but because I swear by her, I will literally fly across the country to see her. I trust her! The improvements on my skin are very visible and definitely helps with my confidence. She’s very knowledgeable and will take the time to explain everything to you. She doesn’t rush you out the door like most doctors do and will answer any questions you may have.

The doctor is an amazing dermatologist! I went with real skin problems, acute rosasca that was getting worse, and she cured me.
My skin cleared up and I am confident that whatever other problem I may get the doctor will be able to resolve it. It is so important to trust a doctor that no matter how complex a skin problem medically might be, she will find the solution!
Her skin products add icing to the cake: they are incredible in terms of quality and the benefits you get from them. With her serum my face glows! With the sunscrene I feel totally protected.

I couldn’t be more happy and satisfied with Dr. B and her staff. I’ve been Dr. Boakye’s patient several years ago but then life happens and I didn’t see her for years. Recently, I had a minor skin issue and my first thought was to reach out to Dr. B. It was so great to see her again. She is an amazing doctor who cares for her patients but more importantly, she is a wonderful human being. Her staff is so great too! Definitely highly recommended!

I used to be a patient of Dr. B about 2 years ago. She is a wonderful and intelligent physician and I am grateful to have been her patient considering how booked and busy she was/is. I felt great when she applauded my consistent sunscreen usage lol. Hopefully I will be able to seek out her services in the near future now that I have moved back to NJ.

I have been looking for a NJ dermatologist for some time and happen to stumble across Dr. B on Instagram. My first visit was great! The new patient process was organized and incredibly easy. I simply uploaded all my information using an iPad provided by the receptionist while I waited to be seen. Dr. B has superb bedside manner and took the time to answer all my questions. I feel extremely confident that I will see improvement with my skin after discussing my treatment plan with her. I honestly love Bergen Derm and Dr. Boakye. She has helped improve my acne tremendously. She takes time to listen and understand my concerns. The facility is always clean, front desk staff and medical assistants are always kind and professional. I only prefer Black Dermatologist because they understand our skin tone and dermatologic issues. I am glad I found her.

Dr. B is amazing. She is professional, cares about her patients, and is so kind. She will listen to all of your concerns, and come up with the best, and most personalized solution for you. GOOD skin care is not cheap ANYWHERE, but she does her best to make sure that you feel comfortable and is extremely honest. I will never go to another dermatologist. Dr. Boakye is the best. I have seen 5 other dermatologist and paid a ton of money to an esthetician only to see my skin issue get worse. I finally decided to make an appointment to see Dr. Boakye and wait it out (had to wait a few weeks) and I am so happy I did. The first appointment she diagnosed my issues, prescribed medications (both cost less than $100 total), reviewed what I was using over the counter to determine what to keep/ get rid of, and even gave me an idea on how long it would take to clear up. I visited Dr. B after having over 2 years of cystic acne. After a lot of trial and error and seeing another doctor prior I’m happy to say everything is finally working out. Haven’t had a pimple in 2 month and hope it continues. She listens well and hears you out before just prescribing medication and also gives some lifestyle tips that was ultimately what made the difference in my skin.

HIPPA has been Breached. If there were a Zero. That would be my rating, I went in August 1, 2018. I had been there previously but this time the staff was Unprofessional, Irresponsible and Horrible. I was prescribed prescription. I ask the woman if I could have my script. She says "I'll call it in. Which pharmacy?" I answer "Acme in Weehawken." I went to pick nothing. I call the office Saturday the 4th spoke with the Dr. She says I'll get back to you...nothing. August 8th I called she answers. The entire staff from Dr to manager and staff "LIED" says the script

Dr. B is the absolute best doctor, of any doctor, in any field, that I have ever encountered. So professional, knowledgeable, caring, and easy to talk to. She really gets to know her patients, takes her time, and makes you feel so comfortable. I've had multiple surgical and cosmetic procedures, and she's also gotten me through a rough bout of adult hormonal acne. Look forward to every visit!

I've been a patient of Dr. Boakye for over a year and she is amazing! I have eczema and hyperpigmentation and both worsen as the weather changes. My first visit with Dr. Boayke she immediately diagnosed that I had dermatitis on my face and treated it. Her staff is always very professional and courteous and I've never had any complaints.
As for those that complain about pricing, I've yet to go to any dermatologist that wasn't pricey the difference is will my problem be solved in one visit and does the doctor take the time to explain my symptoms and comprises a treatment plan

So it's no surprise that as an adult i have struggled more with acne than ever before. However I just wanted to share that Melissa @ Bergen Dermatology is so good at what she does. I am glad that I did not listen to the negative reviews. I searched for a good dermatologist since my guy who I used to go to for years moved to South Jersey. I did many Google searches and came across Dr. Boakye
Dr. Boakye's staff is very professional. I started going to the practice at their old location. I'm glad to see that they've moved on into a brighter space. The doctor takes her time and gets the diagnosis right. I find it fairly easy to get an appointment and I also like that Bergen Derm is now on ZocDoc. I find ZocDoc very convenient.

I would not waste your time or money here. The staff is horrible. I went into to see a doctor about a spot on my chest only to be told they could do nothing because I was pregnant. (for the record I told the receptionist I was pregnant when booking the appointment) The doctor told me to come back in Oct after baby and she would look at it then. They submitted a $225 bill for a 5 min visit which they did nothing and no answers for me about what it was. When I called to question why my insurance did not cover the whole visit 100% since I have no co-pay with in network insurance and my deductable

Let me tell you. This place is GREAT. It was my first time at Bergen Dermatology, and I've only been to the dermatologist once or twice in my life, so I wasn't entirely certain what to expect. I saw Dr. Osei-Tutu and she was absolutely delightful. She was straightforward, informative, and funny. She sat and listened to my concerns and I didn't feel rushed or pressured to speak quickly at all (you know that feeling some doctors give you, the "talk fast so I can get to my next patient" feeling).
