I have been coming to the 18th St location for about 5 years now and every experience is just as good as the last.. Even through a remodelation they managed to provide great bedside manners & schedule. They take care of all my skin issues!! Thank You Dermogroulnyc team!!! They are really a team playing staff

I went to see him with my mother who happens to have a lot of skin rashes that cause her to itch.
He proceeded to tell her it's self induced but that she isn't crazy. It's something in her brain ir nerves that is telling her to scratch. Her prescribed her some pills + cream that he prescribed to me for dry skin . Turns out mt mother actually has Polycythemia. He didn't even ask for a biopsy nor a blood test. He just brushed it off as it being in her mind.
They didn't send my medicine until 5 days later. & my lab results for another 7. Highly unprofessional office

The front desk ladies are very rude and horrible at their job. The manager extremely nasty and I dont know how they all have jobs anywhere. When I checked in the front desk ladies were making fun of patients looks and laughing. It was a DISGUSTING thing to do. I saw Raquel and she was very nice. I've also seen dr omar and Dr. Jessica and they were also nice but the staff will make me never go back to that practice. Sorry but I will never recommend anyone to go there.

I called to make an appointment, made sure they took my insurance, then when I arrived a week later, and give them my insurance card they inform me that they don't take my insurance. "But I asked you over the phone," I say. "We take United Health Care but not this type of UNH," the lady at the front desk says. "But I told you over the phone exactly what kind of insurance I have."

I have never felt like a less worthy person by medical professionals in my life. I got scolded, while half naked and after waiting for 15 min, because the receptionist couldn't be bothered to do her job. And then i waswasnt even seen and told to just get dressed and leave since i didnt have a physical copy of the referral, which seems wild in 2018. I can olny say i felt degraded and humiliated.

I've been going to Dr. Torres for several years. The office staff is very friendly and courteous. It is always easy to get an appointment at DermgroupNYC. Dr. Torres has a wonderful personality and is extremely thorough. He is profesional, caring, knowledgeable, and personable. He has treated my acne, rosacea and many other conditions. This is the must disgusting practice I have ever encountered. I have never experienced service on such a repulsive level before - and this was just from calling to try to make an appointment.
If this is the industry standard, if these are the people you are using as the front line for your office, I cannot imagine how gross it is 'higher up.' The office manager "declined" to speak to me about scheduling an appointment because I needed some help navigating the insurance process.

Just the worst. Another example of the medical industrial complex grinding along. We are cattle to them. Terrible front desk. Disorganized nurses. Rushed doctor. They probably charged my insurance company thousands for this mistreatment. Still no luck getting the prescriptions filled from my appointment a month ago, partly due to pharmacy problems but mostly due to a careless staff at this joint. Don't bother. Whatever you're suffering from will only be made worse by the stress and disappointment this office will bring.

I am speechless at the level of damages (physical, emotional, financial) from the care that I received at Dr. Omar's office.
After being treated at this office I needed to go to another doctor to deal with the after effects of the damages that were caused to me by Dr. Omar's practice.
It is unfortunate that this office is part of CIGNA network.
Also- it's true what some of the other reviews say:

This place was amazing. I took my friend there today for the first time. We were delayed and asked for our appointment to be moved to a later slot. They were incredibly accommodating. The beautiful girl at the front desk was polite. The assistant (forgot her name) was friendly and VERY respectful. The dermatologist Jessica was AWESOME! Did not sense any negativity. I highly recommend this place.

First appointment very mediocre, the staff was very annoying talking LOUDLY about their personal lives. I get socializing with your peers but there is also a level for when you are in an open environment with clients in waiting right next to the front desk.
However Dr. Gomes seemed knowledgable.
Second time Dr. Gomes refused to see me because I was 20 minutes late because she was double booked, even though I called ahead of time to warn them.
Frances or Francis, one of the receptionist is also very rude over the phone.
Unbelievably inflexible. Will never ever go here again.

1. As everyone else has alluded to, the staff are incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful. Every single time I've gone there I'd had a problem with insurance covering medication and every single time I've had to solve the problem myself because they simply will do the minimum amount of work necessary.

Dr. Torres and his entire staff provide highly skilled, efficient, outstanding care. They are detail oriented and very specific- focused, in fact. Not two seconds of your time will be wasted. I've experienced other derm groups prior, so I am quite aware of the superficiality rampant in this aspect of medical care. DERMGROUPNYC, especially when one has skin cancer concerns, has my complete trust.

I visited Dr Torres's office last September to have three small tattoos removed. The first session there was pleasant as far as the in office experience goes, but I saw little results. Two of the tattoos are black and the third is blue. I noticed the blue was actually brighter.
I made an appointment to have my next session six weeks after the first. This one was canceled by them a week before the session. They said that they rent the laser machine from another company only once a month and that the laser matching would not be rented
