Avi is a graduate of Yeshiva University where he was the lead Tenor saxophonist in the College Jazz Ensemble and where he also studied Cantorial liturgy and style under the tutelage of the world renowned Cantors, Macy Nulman and Bernard Beer.Avi honed his saxophone skills through his many years of study under the Jazz woodwind specialist, Artie Richards of Manhattan.

Avi Maza Orchestra was absolutely outstanding at our wedding!! Avi regularly checked in with us to make sure everything was on schedule, making us feel at ease!! All of the orchestra members were such friendly, professional people who truly were happy to share in our happiness!! It meant the world to us that they helped us make our wedding day the best!! Avi Maza is a great emcee. If you are having a Jewish wedding or bar or bat mitzvah I highly recommend him. He is very Jewishly knowledgable. We hired him and his DJ for our wedding and we were very happy. I (the bride) am sensitive to loud music and lights and Avi was very accommodating. He really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The morning of the wedding he surprised us by asking if he could play his saxophone (at no extra charge) and wanted to make sure it wouldn't be too loud for me. Avi Maza Orchestra made our wedding so incredible. They were able to accommodate the song requests that both me and my now husband wanted. The whole wedding was so special and was made even more amazing by both the band and the DJ, as we had an orthodox wedding for the 1st half and then more secular for the 2nd half. Avi knew exactly what we wanted and more than delivered. Wedding planning is stressful enough, but Avi made it effortless. 100% would use again and do not regret my decision at all.

Avi's band was an essential part of our successful event. The musicians emcee & dancers were excellent. The photo booth was great. They played music that showed off the band's wide range of talents and was chosen to pace the evening perfectly. This was a delayed event from last Spring and he honored the contract we signed a year ago the greatest extent possible. Couldn't ask for more!

Avi Maza is exceptional one stop shopping. Phenomenal singing. Check. Incredible range of music from Jewish to Israeli to Oldies for the grandparents to current stuff for the kids. Check. Spirited and engaging singers. Check. Fun, boisterous games facilitator for the kids. Check. Prompt delivery of a wide variety of shabbat games. Check. Did I mention that you can get Avi on his cell phone at any time and that he is a pleasure to work with? It was a terrific experience.

Wow! We had heard this group perform at another mitzvah so we already knew they were great. However, today they exceeded our expectations and truly made our event so special! From the moment our guests started walking in to the kiddush luncheon to the very last song, they had everyone engaged. (That is not an easy feat for 2.5 hours) So many of our guests shared unsolicited feedback on how fantastic the singers were and couldn’t believe how they seemed to know every song that people randomly requested as they went table to table in between big sets. Avi and his crew just did my son's Bar Mitzvah and every person that can came couldn't say enough good things about the photo booth I had and about the music. Avi was on top of everything and I didn't have to worry about anything. The music played none stop until the end. When my mother asked him to lower the music a little bit he did it with no questions. I really enjoyed working with Avi and his crew. They were amazing. When I have my next son's Bar Mitzvah, I'm planning in hiring Avi Maza again.

If I could give the Avi Maza orchestra more stars, I would. I was supposed to get married on September 6, 2020. Like most COVID brides, I had to make the tough decision to postpone my big wedding celebration. Avi was amazing. We picked a new date without any issues, he was always easy to contact, and he called me a few times to make sure he had all of the details right for our wedding.
