Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory began in Ellensburg, WA as Affordable Funeral Care under the ownership of Dick & Janet Roy Knautz in 2001. In 2010 they grew into the Yakima Valley and later became known as Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory. Because of their compassionate leadership and honest dealings, they were soon the leading Funeral Service Provider in both Yakima and Kittitas Counties.

You never want to have to recommended a funeral home to someone as that means that a family is hurting. However when I do need too without a doubt I say Brookside. At Brookside they treat you like family as soon as you walk through that door and will help you during the most difficult time in your life as if you were family. Jamin and Kara are about treating you and your family member with the utmost respect and care and are not about dollar or the fancy corporate name on the door. The workers here don't know how to use basic programs provided by Microsoft. (which ruined my personal experience nobody else's) They did not know the difference between the mini player and full screen button. Then, when the video was playing, they did not know how to turn up the volume. Once someone complained about the video having no sound, they decided to blast the speakers almost blowing them. The video lost a lot of pathos when we had to watch it a second time. The inability to use simple technology insults the dead and the living. Jamin Is exceptional and goes above and beyond in his work. In a time when one doesn’t really know what direction to take, Jamin and his team were there to help us with the process and even travelled to bring my brother back home.
Jamin made sure we were always up to date on everything and always made sure we were ok with the whole funeral process before proceeding with something.
Brookside is also a wonderful facility and I appreciate Jamin taking the time to take care of our loved one.
