Waffle Farm Campground
Rediscover The Joy Of Camping Think Outside. No Box Required. A Relaxing Camping Experience. Outside Is The New Inside. Let's Watch the Sunset Together When you stop and look around, this life is pretty amazing. We know everyone has been wondering about reservations this year. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, we must make changes and adapt our normal routine once again for the safety of everyone.

We will strictly be accepting reservations via phone calls, Facebook messenger and e-mail. We will have a person taking care of each of those all day long so one way is not better than another way. You must be aware that messaging us your requests today, tomorrow, etc will not work. Any messages that are submitted before 8am on Monday the 11th via any of the above routes will NOT be answered.
Services
The campground is separated into two sections: The main camp has 225 sites and the seasonal camp 155 sites. In the main campground your choice of facilities vary from a primitive site to a waterfront site with full hookup. These sites are available to you by the night, weekend, week, or season depending on their location.
In certain scenarios we will allow a small pup tent 3' high for your own minor children in your family. In the case of multiple sites booked, cancellation penalties apply to each site that is cancelled or changed. All fishing and paddle boats are to be operated with care and children under 13 must have an adult with them.
Parents are responsible for children's actions. Children are to stay off other sites and are to be accompanied by an adult to the restrooms and the beach. Children are to be at your campsite after quiet hours. No more than one sleeping unit per campsite. Tents less than 7.5' x 7.5' are permitted, in addition to the registered unit, to be used by children less than 12 years old only.
This usage is calculated from the meter on your site, at the current Consumers Energy rate. If Consumers Energy increases the rate during the season, your rate will be changed accordingly. There is a MINIMUM FEE of $50.00 Per Season. REMEMBER: You will not receive a separate bill. The fees listed here are to be PAID IN FULL UPON CLOSING OF THE CAMPGROUND for the season.
Your Site Seniority starts upon the date of deposit on your seasonal site and continues until you leave or your site is terminated. For both married and unmarried couples, both parties will sign the seasonal contract agreement. This will give both parties controlling interest of the site, and also makes both parties liable and bound to this contract.

We stayed at this campground sept 2021. We had 3 spots for a family get together for a wedding. The spots are a little narrow but we could live with that. The lake view is beautiful. The reason I am negative and will not return is friday and saturday night they had very, very loud concerts in the pavilion lasting well over 4 to 5 hours. Couldn't even enjoy sitting at campfire. Also had trouble sleeping. So before you book your peaceful stay beware you may be attending concerts instead of quiet peaceful camping. Very dissapointed. We checked the event calander to see what was going on but nothing

Awesome, best campground in Michigan, boating lakes, bunch of play things for the kids. Owner is awesome and the people there are the ones you want to hang out with.

Always a favorite place to camp. You can't beat lakeshore camping. Only negative is the place always seems a bit dirty and run down. Would love to see the owners put more money back into the facilities.

The campground was nice and well kept. The sites are a little narrow but there was plenty of open areas to throw a frisbee or football. The people were friendly and it was quiet the weekend we were there. My only complaint is the beach. The beach and swimming area was very small. The area roped off for swimming was small and shallow (about waist deep). Definitely not a beach to hang out and swim all day on.

The camp sites are narrow but long, not a big issue. The campground sets on a chain of lakes which is nice if you have a boat. I would say that the campground is occupied primarily with sessional residents, I would guess 60-70% are seasonal making it feel more like a trailer park than a campground. My biggest complaint was all the golf carts and UTV's, especially after dark. After dark most of the golf carts are driven by kids going over the 10 MPH limit.

The campground is quite nice & seems well enough maintained. Saw all the reviews about bathrooms, etc, but we found them as clean as could be expected. Not quite as clean as state parks, but I've certainly seen worse.

We had a waterfront site that was so close to being perfect ... until a motor home pulled straight in to the site next to us (we have a backed in travel trailer) putting their patio abutting ours. Just kinda rude. The people were nice enough, but there's zero (sense) of privacy. When I called the office (and also discussed the neighbor's dog doing it's business

I love this campground! It's very family-friendly with several playgrounds and planned activities. The beach is a little small, but pretty nice. The campsites are good sizes. The store has some essentials and neat souvenirs. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the bathrooms are a little gross.

Bathrooms are so disgusting! The cost of $40 to camp per night should provide clean bathrooms. Also, very noisy to all hours of the night and no one monitors the noise levels. As I'm writing this review at 12.30am there are people screaming outside still. Lots of traffic throughout the entire day till late evening. Lake is very muddy and lots of weeds. Won't be coming back her.

My family and i have been camping here for 5+ years on seasonal spots. we love this place so much. the owner is amazing and is more of a friend to us now. they have so many activities going on almost every weekend, bands playing on busy weekends, a food truck parked by the camp store all summer, plus they're located on a chain of 5 lakes that's great for a boat day. everyone is like one big family. 10/10 recommend!!!!

This applies mostly to primitive/tent camping.

The sites are nicely sized each with a picnic table and a spot for campfires. They're not very private though. You've got room to breath, but you're definitely hearing each others music and comings and goings. No fire rings, but there's a dirt spot at each site. Firewood is available for $6 a bundle in the camp store. You'll probably need two for a night so you may want to take that into consideration if you've got room to haul your own or have a cheaper option.

There appears to be two groupings of primitive sites one

When we arrived, they had our reservation scheduled for a different weekend, in a different month. It was a holiday weekend so they only had one spot left. After the two hour drive, we took it. They didn't give us a map of the campground or any type of info at check-in. The non-seasonal spaces, especially the one we had near the pavilion were extremely narrow (no more than 20-25 ft wide). They are deep but your campfire and chairs are basically on top of your neighbors - it's ridiculous. The weekend we went they had live music Friday and Saturday night (nice if you like that) but they

The bathrooms need to be bigger and nicer and the showers are in with the bathrooms which is so gross. Half the time the toilets don't flush. They advertise internet but it pops on and off. I have camped seasonal and weekend camping. The lake is what makes this campgrounds. Although you can't camp on the water for the weekend like you could years ago. They require to reserve for a week.

My family and I went to this campground this past weekend and we were not impressed. The sites they have open for campers are very small. The sites are long but narrow. It was the nosiet campground I have ever been too. People up till 2-3am partying. Bathrooms were gross, they had standing muddy water in them. Posted speed limit is 10 but cars were zooming around the campground like it was a highway. One lady in the campground store looked miserable to be there, never smiled. The beach area had dark brown/black sand with pebbles in it. Definately won't go back.

I've been going here for years, and plan to be going for a lot longer. Great location, has a chain of 7 HUGE lakes, regularly maintained grass and fields. Lots of beautiful trees, but not too many to where its a annoyance. This campground has tons of options from boat rentals, to lake front spots, a beach, boat launch, even free wifi to the whole campground. Everyone here is really nice. The type of campground where you almost know everybody, even though its a pretty big campground. Easily the best camp ground in Michigan. I would highly recommend staying a weekend.

Poorly ran campground owned by the most unpleasant woman imaginable. Camped here one week only and have never seen a more disorganized and mismanaged place in my life. Owner is condescending rude and quite racist against my black friend. They use paper booking for a very large campground because the owner is too cheap to buy a computer. That means lost reservations and double bookings abound. MUCH nicer places available, avoid at all cost!

We visited Waffle Farm Campground a couple weeks ago for the first time. This is a great little no frills campground. We chose an off-beach site. It was flat, grassy, and shady. We have a pop up camper, but this is an excellent campground for tents, too. The pricing is a little different in that site rental includes only two adults and kids over 10 cost extra. They also do not take credit cards. Probably my only complaint was that the bathrooms/showers seemed inadequate for the size of the campground.
