We are the town cemetery where generations of Danvers inhabitants have chosen to spend eternal life. Located in the heart of Danvers, Walnut Grove provides the ideal location for local families to visit and remember their loved ones. The peaceful, beautiful and historic grounds have served as a sanctuary in which to honor the memories of the departed since 1843.

Walnut Grove is a non-denominational cemetery where all are welcome. And, space is plentiful for both interment and cremation options. In addition to thousands of available ground burial plots, the cemetery has a Columbarium garden which offers 96 niches, each accommodating 2 urns.
Services
Established in 1843, Walnut Grove was the first cemetery in Danvers to be designed as a memorial park. A popular movement of the time, memorial parks were characterized by a pastoral setting yet featured a more rational, formal organization than previous cemeteries. To this day, Walnut Grove embodies the park-like tradition with over 20 acres of walking trails and beautifully maintained yet natural scenery.
Discussing one's own mortality is an uneasy subject, but it is as necessary a step in planning your future as any of the Adult Decisions needed to get your affairs in order. Pre-planning your burial arrangements is one of the most practical and thoughtful decisions you can make for your family. Relieve family members of the burden of making decisions at a difficult time.
The end of life - no one is comfortable bringing up this subject, but it is important to discuss and finalize your plans as it is an inevitable part of the future. Creating a plan to detail and document your final wishes is one of the greatest gifts you can give your family. Most adults do not have all the following 'adult decisions' made.
Walnut Grove's staff will guide you through the pre-planning process. We will explain the options for interment, provide a personalized tour of the available sites, and help you select a location. When you purchase a site or niche from Walnut Grove, you will receive an individualized folder containing all of the relevant documents you will need, and we recommend you keep them in a secure place with other important legal documents.
Walnut Grove has been serving the Danvers community as a final resting place for residents for more than a century and a half. Today, it is one of the only nondenominational cemeteries in the area with ample available space and a choice of interment options, from the time-honored choices to the more contemporary customs.
