Dr. Yohai is an eye surgeon, certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1992, 2002 and 2012.
The amount and pattern of cloudiness within the lens can vary. If the cloudiness is not near the center of the lens, you may not be aware that a cataract is present. A thorough eye examination by your Ophthalmologist (medical eye doctor) can detect the presence and extent of a cataract, as well as any other conditions that may be causing blurred vision.
If you have diabetes mellitus, your body does not use and store sugar properly. High blood-sugar levels can damage blood vessels in the retina, the nerve layer at the back of the eye that senses light and helps to send messages to the brain. The damage to retinal vessels is referred to as diabetic retinopathy.
Dry eyes implies that we are not making enough tears and that the surface of the eye is drying out. Our tear film is actually made up of several components, the oily layer, the watery layer, and the mucopolysaccharide layer. Artificial tears are best at replenishing the water layer. This will help many but not all patients.
You may sometimes see small specks or clouds moving in your field of vision. They are called floaters. You can often see them when looking at a plain background, like a blank wall or blue sky. Floaters are actually tiny clumps of gel or cells inside the vitreous, the clear jelly-like fluid that fills the inside of your eye.

Dr. Yohai did my upper eyelid surgery a number of years ago, to reduce their size and weight. They were impairing my vision. Everything went very well. About two years ago, he did cataract surgery on one of my eyes which also went very well and which helped my vision in that eye. It was a more complicated, intricated surgery than the "normal" cataract surgery. Now I am going to have cataract surgery on my other eye. I have great confidence in his extensive knowledge and great skill. I also like that he has modern examination equipment of many types in his office for complete examinations

Dr Yohai performed my cataract surgeries. I have a history that includes a childhood eye injury, which required painful & traumatizing surgery. To this day, I'm still very jumpy whenever anything gets close to my eyes. Dr Yohai was patient, calming, and did a spectacular job. I now see at nearly 20-20 & just donated my old glasses. I trust him to perform the ptosis surgery I will require. I can't say enough good things about him & his nurse, Jackie. Even his dog, Buddy, is a treat. Who'd have thought going to the eye doctor could be a pleasure?

He's quiet, unassuming, and doesn't promote himself like some of the expensive, well-marketed competitors that also do blepharoplasties at premium prices.
You can select him with confidence because he is a highly experienced, skilled surgeon. He has performed several procedures for me including cataract surgery to implant trifocal panoptic inner ocular lenses.

I went to Dr. Yohai due to severe double vision. After a thorough examination Dr. Yohai told me that I had significant strabismus in both eyes. A complicated situation that required surgery.
The surgery is not lasik or computer assisted. Its success depends on the personal skill of the surgeon. What could be more perfect that a skilled surgeon who is a perfectionist! That's Dr. Yohai. My eyesight is excellent now.

I had something of a perceived emergency, and I don't mess around with my eyes, but the local eye doctor was unavailable, so his office referred me to Dr, Yohai in Novato. I'm so glad they did! He's very meticulous, very thorough, explains what he's doing, and while he is focused on his work (and wouldn't you want him to be?!), he is understanding and compassionate. Plus - he's a dog lover! I had cataract surgery in both eyes with Dr. Yohai and had very successful results. I had been wearing contact lenses / glasses for the last 50 years and now I don't even need reading glasses.
Dr. Yohai is excellent, very detail-oriented and takes his time to explain everything. Jackie, Adriana and Buddy are so welcoming when you come in. Timely appointments, everything explained, great 'bedside' manner during office visits. Highly recommend Dr. Yohai!

In the past 3months I have had cataract surgery on both of my eyes. Initially I was terrified however dr Yohai and his nurse spent time with me answering my many questions follow up care has been the same high quality of care. I have been able to heal quickly for I am resting in Dr Yohai's expertise. When I did have a little glitch in healing it was easy to contact the office and Dr Yohai. Doc followed up later that evening to be sure that healing was progressing well

My experience with Dr. Yohai and his staff was excellent. All of my questions were answered (I had a long list!) and I was very comfortable with my decision to have surgery. My tear ducts were blocked in both eyes and I had two successful surgeries.
Even though Dr. Yohai has offices in Novato and Santa Rosa, I never had a problem scheduling a convenient appointment pre or post surgeries. His office staff was wonderful and very accommodating.
Dr. Yohai has my highest recommendation!
