Really negative experience overall. Went in for replacement contacts and backup glasses. Asked for the same make of lenses, was prescribed a different make and told the others no longer exist. Had to confirm on my own 1) the requested lenses do exist and readily available and 2) the new ones were causing vision problems. Got stuck with the bill for replacing the contacts.
For the glasses, they recommended a bunch of extra features which, once applied, distorted the lenses into permanent fisheye views and said they couldn't reorder or accept a return on them.
Hundreds of dollars later, I'm stuck

Poor service and dishonest. I went because it was covered under VSP and upon arrival was told to do a test. I was not asked if I would like to do a test and had no idea what test it was. After all the tests I was told that the first test they told me to do was not covered under VSP and I had to pay extra $39 for it. Also after testing my eyes, the employees did not bother explaining to me my new prescription. I had to ask the employee what my new prescription is. Also tried to upsell me on all the add ons by just telling my the final sum with all the add ons I did not ask for - I had to ask why

I rather not date myself, but I have been seeing Dr. Kennedy (no pun intented) for nearly a decade now. I have been told previously by other eye docotors, that I am a difficult patient. I typically hate eye docotors, I hate the bright lights they shine in your face, and any test that involves touching my eye or putting in eye drops. Dr. Kennedy is super sweet, and makes going to the eye doctor a tolerable expereience. I actually relocated to Portland, but was having trouble finding a docotor I like here. I decided that whenever possible I would continue to come here. I have found other great docotors

Terrible experience, do yourself a favor and avoid it!
Despite booking online and getting a confirmation, I'm told the appointment is no longer available. Sure, nbd. They ask me to come in the next day.
I mention that I'm just looking to get my eyesight checked and they mention the co-pay. On coming in, I'm told I can't just get my eye-sight checked and need to do a full eye-test or go elsewhere. I've been to several optometrists in the Bay Area and never have been forced to get a bunch of tests, just so they can milk you.
Dr. Watson was incredibly rude and condescending. Wouldn't recommend

Terrible experience!
I book the appointment online so as to avoid the unnecessary phone call.
30 minutes later I get a call.
Receptionist: Hey, the appointment you booked, that we confirmed is suddenly no longer available. You need to reschedule.
Me: Um, ok
Receptionist: Can you come in tomorrow noon (less than 24 hours away)?
Me: yeah, sure, it's not like I have a job or anything. I'll just drop everything and be there at noon. Could you tell me my co-pay?
Receptionist: Sure. Since you're in-network it's $30.
Me: Um, for my insurance for a checkup it should be $10.

The service is excellent and it's a convenient location. However there are too many hidden fees they don't tell you about. I was told there was no co pay for an eye exam but they tacked on some $64 charge for a "routine eye check" that I had no chance to opt out of. First strike. A few weeks later I went in for lenses. Only after they made the measurements did they tell me it was a $25 co pay and $90 for lenses. They literally told me during my first visit that lenses would be free with my insurance. It's not okay to treat customers this way.

I’ve been buying my eyewear at FYEO Optometry for the last three years. Lita and team offer a wonderful selection of glasses, top-notch service and competitive pricing. They offer eye exams, as well. Dr. Kennedy gave me my annual eye exam and was very thorough & caring. It’s an inviting shop in the heart of the Castro-you should definitely make a point of stopping by and checking their shop out!

First time checking this place out . I called to make a appointment and a day before Lupe asked me to email them my insurance card and I did. She mentioned that she would call back if there was any promblem with my insurance and I was thinking evrything was ok since I did not received a call back. Today I went in for my appointment and took a sick day off work to get this done since I need reading glasses badly. When I went in she decided to tell me that they do not take my insurance and the exam was $140 out of pocket. I decided to leave and find a provider that took my insurance and asked me

The staff at For Your Eyes is the reason I keep coming back each year. I have been a patient/customer for around 10 years and they always treat me like I’m the only person in the office. Miranda excels above all - she knows all of the frames and choices and really helped me through some eyeglass challenges over the last 18 months. Thank you to all!

Dr. Kennedy might initially appear charming and cheerful during your eye exam, but if you really want to know who she is, tell her you are not buying a year's worth of contact from the office (you can purchase them from an online retailer for 40% purchase cheaper). "I would be careful buying contacts online, they cannot be trusted" and her disapproving expression will forever be embedded in my mind every time i think of visiting this office again. I guess it's fair for her to have a distate to my decision, since the practice does make money on prescription sales...

This place got my business because it was the only Optometrist on Castro that did online appointments. So, just that was great. But, the actual visit was excellent. Dr. Kennedy was very kind, and Tim Tao helped me choose awesome frames for both glasses and sunglasses. I am really happy that I went to them, and already got my husband an appointment, as he needs to get his eyes taken care of, too.
