But more than that, it means seeing us at least twice a year for regular checkups and cleanings. Appointments like these are important for creating and maintaining a healthy smile. At Smile Care Family Dentistry, we recommend seeing Dr. Asra Javeed for routine visits at least twice a year.
Brushing, flossing, and rinsing are the foundation of proper and healthy oral care. Children are not always the best at keeping up with their cleaning routines, which puts them at risk of developing gum disease and cavities. Since they are learning how to brush and floss, children are more susceptible to dental problems.
Patients who use tobacco, drink alcohol excessively, or have poorly fitting dentures are the most at risk for oral cancer. But even patients with none of the most common risk factors have a chance of developing the disease. That's why Dr. Asra Javeed includes an oral cancer screening as part of every regular checkup and exam.

Dr. Javeed is the best dentist I have encountered. She is skilled and all of my fillings have been completed pain free. She provides detailed explanations and is upfront about what dental work can wait vs what needs to be done sooner. I came to her in need of extensive dental work including root canals and she developed a manageable plan for restoring my oral health. Her staff is wonderful and I can't recommend this practice enough!
