Soaring Wings Vineyard began planting and planning in 2001, when Jim Shaw and family purchased the land in Springfield, NE. Opening their doors to the public in 2004, business took off soaring and hasn't quit since! Through many additions to both the infrastructure and the wine list, loyal customers have helped establish both weekly and annual events.
Around 2011, Jim began brewing beer to accommodate for both his own interest and that of his patrons! Now with over 20 wine selections and 9 brews, we are certain there is a beverage for every palate here at Soaring Wings (an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages are also available). Soaring Wings wine can be purchased on site or at select local retailers including Hy-Vee & Bakers!

Soaring Wings currently features 22 wines ranging from dry to sweet. Traditionally, 70% of the grapes come from our very own vineyard, while the remaining 30% come from the Nebraska region. Or enjoy a sunset with friends and a bottle or glass of wine! Wine by the glass is just $6, bottle prices are listed online by dry & semi-dry or semi-sweet & sweet.
We feature 10% discounts on any 1/2 Case Purchase & a 20% discount on Full Case Purchases (12 Bottles)! Join our Bacchus Wine Club to receive additional discount opportunities! A lightly oaked red with soft cherry notes, crisp acidity, hints of cinnamon and moderate tannins. Similar to Pinot Noir. Still Young.

Resembling a light Chardonnay, this lightly oaked white wine with fruity overtones has a nice, smooth finish. Best paired with seafood, grilled shrimp or chicken and heavy pasta dishes.

This light and delightfully fruity blush, full of strawberry and watermelon notes is slightly tart, it provides a fine crisp finish!
The grapes are in and the wine is made! I (Nicole) have taken over the day-to-day winemaking operations while Jim has become "winemaker emeritus" if you will. But when he isn't flying, you will probably see him still bustling around the winery. We had a very large harvest last year, and this year the pendulum.

Lovely winery. Very quiet & peaceful. Beautiful patio to sit with a very good glass of wine, a little cheese & crackers, and just relax. Best of the Nebraska & Iowa wineries we've visited. Great service - & very reasonable - wine tasting. Just to put in perspective - we purchased 3 bottles. They also have craft brews, we didn't try them - the wine was too good.

The Syrah wine was ok. Great outside area with the views etc. but, we were here in December so unfortunately that didn’t work for us. The inside area not impressed. Have this great view and area sitting outside but, inside not so much. Could do so much more with the inside to making this inviting and where guest would want another class of wine; beer. Bring the outside views inside.

Awesome place! Great wine and beer, great location with awesome atmosphere and I love the aviation theme! I learned the owner is a Delta Air Lines pilot and working in aviation myself, I loved all the little aviation references from signs on the wall to the names for the drinks.
The $8 taster for 5 drinks (beer or wine) included a glass to take home. After we each did a taster, just bought a bottle to split. Glasses of wine are $6 a glass but for $16, we got a bottle, which gave us about 3 glasses a person. It was great!
We will definitely be back!!!

Went to visit the winery today.
They have a huge patio to sit on.
Their sampling is a great deal at $8 for 5 samples. The person pouring did generous pours. It also includes a souvenir glass. I think they are confident that if you do a tasting you will buy. My friends who has been all over France visiting vineyards was very pleased with this one.
One bad thing was, no bar stools at the bar. So if you want to hang out there you need to stand.
We went on a beautiful day. It was good times. The baguette might take awhile, but it was served warm. Block of cheese was really big. You order what you
