It is our goal at Sierra Nevada Periodontics and Implant Dentistry to offer the very best care to our patients. We work hard to keep our office up to date with the latest dental technologies. Periodontitis, commonly referred to as "gum disease, " is a serious issue that affects many people's lives. Periodontitis is a loss of gum and bone around the teeth. It is caused by the body's inflammatory responses to certain bacteria within the mouth. The combination of bacteria and inflammation can ultimately lead to loss of teeth if left untreated.
Our goal is to help you through your first appointment. We all know how scary it can be, so we are here to answer any questions or help alleviate any concerns you may have. We work hard to offer our patients (new and old) a welcoming and comfortable office. We know that you may be anxious about your visit, so we will do everything we can do to help.
At your first visit, Dr. French will perform a thorough examination of your oral structures. She will review your medical and dental history and your current concerns for your oral health. If x-rays are necessary, they will be taken and reviewed. She will perform an oral cancer screening and take the necessary measurements required to diagnose your condition and formulate a treatment plan for your individual case.
Here at Sierra Nevada Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, we are proud to offer different types of anesthetics to our patients to make their visits more comfortable. The most common anesthetic we use is a local anesthetic. This blocks pain in a certain area of your mouth. To make the injections more comfortable, we will apply a topical anesthetic to pre-numb the area.

Dr French, Dallas, Solomon and the entire staff were a complete joy from beginning to end during my multiple visits. I was suffering from some fairly severe recession in my gums that was causing roots of my teeth to be exposed. This exposure was causing me intense sensitivity and pain in the area affected. The treatment recommend by Dr French was to perform a skin graft, removing a portion of pallet and grafting it to the area suffering from the recession. To be clear, the procedure itself wasn’t a walk in the park as you can imagine. That being said, Dr French performed the procedure quickly

The front desk staff were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! They were very quick to get back to me regarding my insurance and what it would cover for my procedure I had done. The quote was almost spot on!! They were also great at all my courtesy calls to remind me of my upcoming appointments. Dr. French and her assistants were kind, gentle, and caring! Dr French, her office manager Solomon, and her entire staff were amazing. I was in the process of having implants done and I needed to see a specialist. My dentist referred me to Dr French, and even though they are heavily scheduled they got me in quickly.

I was so happy with the kindness, knowledge, care and professionalism of Dr French and all of her staff. They made an unpleasant experience into a much more pleasant one. Dr French has a unique blend of knowledge and caring that you don’t get at many periodontal practices. I highly recommend this office. Don’t go anywhere else in northern Nevada!!

The service provided was somewhat involved and spreadout over several months. Everyone was friendly and professional. Dr. French took her time to explain what was going on and the treatment options that were available. Her assistants were very nice and went about their duties expertly and with care. Solomon at the front desk was very helpful as we worked through the insurance and billing aspect of my visits. Appointment were scheduled far enough out in advance to avoid conflict. Dr. French recently completed the process of a double implant surgery, first removing old implants that another dentist had placed, and re-grafting and placing new implants. Dr. French is an expert in her field, and it becomes immediately apparent as soon as you sit in the chair to start the procedure.

Dr. French and her entire staff are extremely professional and helpful. I had to have a tissue graft and do not like any dental procedures. Every step of the way, Dr. French explained what she was going to do. At each follow up, she did a thorough exam and took the time to answer my questions. Dr French and her staff were wonderful to work with for the PST procedure performed on my gum in Dec 2020. Dr French provided clear and understandable instructions for post surgery care (which I followed very carefully.)
Although the first month of recovery was difficult, I was grateful for the follow up visits that showed the site was healing well.
Dr French is very capable and caring. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

Dr. French was so accommodating, friendly and reassuring when I went to see her about a failing implant. She was forthright and honest about my options, the pros and cons and likelihood of success and the timetable. The actual procedure was (relatively!) comfortable and efficient. Dr. French has simply been one of the best doctors I have ever worked with. Her professionalism and demeanor is second to none.
