My experience with Dr. Hogan was excellent. I searched out a specialist for a neck and shoulder issue and found him. I called his office to see if I would need a referral to see him and the staff was friendly/knowledgeable said he could see me without even with the knowledge I wanted to do self pay. They did x-rays and referred me for a CT scan when the x-rays didn't show an obvious cause for issue. Being self pay he was conscientious about my bill and did not want to do more x-rays or the CT scan but I assured him that it was not a worry for me but appreciated him for that. When the CT scan came

I have mixed feelings about Dr. Hogan. He was very thorough in going through my medical history, my exam, and explaining my xrays and MRI to me. He did sit and speak with me for a very long time. However. He couldn't figure out my pain. Yes I have DDD and 4 cysts, but he said those shouldn't be causing me as much pain as I am in, he spoke negatively about the Tarlov Cyst foundation, and basically told me to go home, lose weight, and pray.
I felt very defeated and left his office in tears. He said, "everyone just wants a shot a pill or a surgery to fix them." Well, yeah, doc. No one wants to live

I feel obligated to write Dr Hogan a review. It was my first surgery. It was about as close to perfect as it could be. He didn’t rush anything. He suggested other forms of treatment before walking me through the surgery. And after the actual procedure I was amazed at how good of a job he did. Don’t let his age fool you He has the touch of experience. And guidance from above!!!

As I sit here waiting for a follow-up appointment, I'm getting so frustrated the only thing I can do is write a review. First off, if I was writing a review on Dr. Hogan ONLY, I'd give him 5 stars. He is knowledgeable, has a great bedside manner and seems to really care about his patients. That being said, for my initial appointment I had to wait over an hour to see him (I arrived early, but it still took over an hour past my appt time). I chalked it up to a bad day for the clinic's scheduling dept. Fast forward a month and I'm here for a follow-up. My appointment was at 1:45. I arrived at 1:30

Ive had ongoing back pain so bad it wakes me up at night since the end of september.. Ive had endless appointments, spent thousands on mris and xrays, and all dr hogan did for me was have me order a 300 dollar back brace that made the pain worse.. There was a previous diagnosis of degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis that he would only tell me shouldnt hurt that bad. I have a family history of this and have seen just how bad it can be.. The nerve pain itself is maddening. Instead of doing surgery or steroid injections he suggested more xrays that would amount to the same treatment.. I felt

Dr Hogan is extremely professional, personable and very, very thorough. I have now seen him 5 times for issues with my lower back. His counsel regarding causes and treatments have been invaluable. I have invested my time into alternative therapies to determine if I could actually avoid surgery. Unfortunately, I cannot. The surgical procedure has been discussed with me in detail, along with potential risks and benefits. Post operative questions were also answered with clarity and detail. His nurse Brooke is also great...always,a smile no matter what the day brings.
