In 1993, Congress passed the Diabetic TSB, which made it possible to provide depth shoes & custom inserts, funded by Medicare part B, to patients with DM. This is a tremendous help in the management of the diabetic foot. The program was designed to prevent lower limb ulcers, amputations, and other complications.
When extremely severe deformities are present, a custom-made shoe can be constructed from a cast or model of the patient's foot. To summarize, the overall function of an orthopedic custom shoe is to provide accommodation of the various dimensions of the foot, be they are severely narrow, severely wide, or a complex combination of circumstances that produce challenges to a good fit and comfortable function from ready-made shoes.
It's best to have your child's Doctor send over a prescription with a face sheet attached. Once we receive the script and contact information, we will call you to set up an appointment. You may also make an appointment with us to get the process started, and we can send over a script to your child's doctor.

After a terrible experience at another local orthotic lab, Compton was the polar opposite and such a positive experience. The owner & his team were all so friendly & educationally helpful to explain details about orthotics, and went above and beyond to make sure I was getting a quality product that’s tailored to my needs. They care equally about comfort and the integrity of the orthotic as well. Don’t go anywhere else!!! They are so thorough and simply the best!
