Dr. Paul Jacob is a Board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in replacement of the hip and knee joint as well as revision hip and knee replacement. A native of Akron, OH, he began his medical career as a physical therapist. After graduating from Walsh University with a masters degree in physical therapy, he went on to become a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist.
He became the director of physical therapy for Kent State University in Kent, Ohio prior to returning to medical school. He attended medical school at Ohio University and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Doctors Hospital and Grant Medical Center in Columbus Ohio.

Dr Jacob is an amazing Dr!!
Only by God's Divine Intervention and Mark Denney, PA, were we lead to him.
The day HPI opened, Dr Jacob performed a hip replacement on our 29 yo son. Few months later, he replaced his other hip. Several years later, our son walks with a beautiful gait...no limp.
Five weeks ago, Dr J performed a knee replacement on my hubby. He is up and thriving amazingly.
In a few weeks, Dr J will give me a new hip. Few months following that...a new right knee.
Few days after my hip replacement, my bro-in-law is also having his hip replaced by Dr J.
As you can see, we have confidence

I was referred to Dr. Jacob in June of 2019. My right hip was in such bad shape that I could literally only walk from 1 room to another, struggling the whole way. My wife had to quit her job to take care of me. Dr. J said my right hip was in such bad shape I needed a hip replacement asap. When we did his evaluation on me he was very informative and I was impressed of the detail he went through. The only thing that was bad news was as soon as possible after the right hip healed, I needed the left one done also!! After surgery, within 5 days I was walking again!!! Dr Jacob is the best knee, hip man in town.
I have had many surgeries, and by far this was the best experience I've had from start to finish. He has replaced both of my hips, and now I'm pain free.
1 day before my 1st replacement my insurance company denied my surgery, stating I was not old enough for the surgery but Dr. Jacob fought for me.
One week after my 2nd hip replacement, I caught Covid (from my daughter). Dr Jacob & his staff went over & beyond to make sure I was taken care of. It is a special thing to find a Dr that has bedside manner & shows he cares about his patients.

I saw the PA after months of pain in my hip and felt like I was dismissed. I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with it even with the MRI I took in. I believed this and tried physical therapy but it didn’t help. After 13 months of constant pain,my regular doctor finally sent me to another doctor and they found Avascular necrosis at the femoral head. This should have been caught in your office.

I just want to share that Dr. Jacob, Elaine and his amazing team are one of a kind. At 4 weeks post surgery I have a wonderful new knee that feels, looks and functions with little pain. The whole process has far exceeded what I thought could happen so fast. I know his talent, skills, protocols, and exercises before and after surgery were factors, but I wanted you to know how thankful I am. The outpatient physical therapist yesterday told me she has never seen a 1 month post surgery knee with so little swelling.

I can tell you that this is the best place to go to get your hip work done. All the way from the first walk in the door. The office staff where very thoughtful and great, to the technicians doing my ct and X-ray, the PA was also so nice and answered all our questions in terms that a guy like me(a commercial roofer for 25plus years) everything they said was going to happen, happened. When I was admitted they treated me and my wife so great, the rooms where clean and awesome, my wife stayed with me through the entire procedure and they let her choose her meals with mine. This was our second operation

Dr. Jacob and staff are exceptional. I had an “exploratory” meeting in Feb 2019 because a friend had such good things to say about Dr. Jacob and the hospital and staff. I live in Tulsa, about 90 miles from the office and hospital, but had gotten so discouraged with my Tulsa knee doctor that I was willing to give investigate.
I was very impressed with little things like a pleasant and efficient administrative staff, a very short wait time to see the PA, and by far the best explanation of total knee replacement I’d ever gotten. They also gave me a notebook full of the information I’d need

I am 6 weeks post op total knee revision. Dr Jacob is highly skilled, attentive to every detail and as well very caring and personable. In addition his staff is just the same which is unusual in a medical office these days. I am very glad I made the choice to see him. He is also very reachable for questions or concerns. Indeed rare and it gives you such peace of mind. As a physical therapist and as a patient this has been a wonderful experience. I highly recommend him to my patients and family/friends and will only have him do any future surgeries.

Dr. Jacob recently did a total hip replacement on my mother. I want to say he did such an AMAZING job from start to finish. He always took extra time to check on her, even in the wee hours which is unlike most physicians. Dr. Jacob was always very kind and very informative. He is not only skilled (her incision is very small & she's already back to work in less than 2 months) but he is obviously very passionate about what he does and it shows that he cares deeply for his patients. We would recommend him 100% and pray he never leaves Oklahoma (we will be following him if he ever does)! Also his office
