The name "Americano" has been shortened over time from "Cafe Americano" which was popularized by Italian Baristas during World War II. The American troops stationed in Italy at the time wanted to drink coffee but found the "Italian Espresso" the Italians called "Cafe" much too strong for them. Therefore, they would pour hot water to dilute it to replicate the more familiar filter coffee from home.

This is the third time we have been here to the Americano Cafe. We don’t be coming back.
Why?
We came when it first opened up and it was fantastic. The owner was obviously there ensuring quality and consistency of the food and drinks. The last two times we have been there everything has been prepared and run by teenagers. Teenagers need supervision and guidance to ensure the quality.
1. The cafe mocha was nearly cold when it was served and it was served in a regular beverage glass. I had asked for an extra shot of espresso too and there is no way it was in there. Clearly they are not using

Our first time stopping in to eat at Americano Cafe. Very nice establishment with unique decor'. You order at the counter and seat yourself. I ordered the BLT on a toasted hogie style bun. Bacon was cooked well, but the chopped lettuce soaked in the mayo sauce made it limp and the bread soggy along with diced tomatoes. I omitted the cheese and onions (I am not a fan of cheese on too many sandwiches). The BLT (in my opinion) would have been much better with a nice green leaf or bib lettuce and sliced tomatoes. I also ordered the truffle garlic Parmesan Fries - they came out soggy and undercooked

I don't want to be too harsh to a small business but this food was not good.
The chicken taco had a cut up chicken tender on it and the tortillas were not even warm. My Italian sandwich was good. The Brussels were good. A little over cooked but the aioli they gave as a side was nice and Smokey.
It is counter service but they sell alcohol. I asked if I could keep my tab open after I ordered a glass of wine and she said no. So I would have had to pay again and tip again. It's just not my thing.

I was looking for a place to have lunch, decided to try this place ....
Glad I did , walking in, it had a nice quaint feeling .... Was greeted immediately very friendly staff.
I had decided on a burger
ordered the Super Mario and their specialty fries .... Great Choice , the burger and fries were awesome and the bun was so soft ! Which made even better !!!

My daughter and I decided to give this place a try! We love avocado 🥑 toast! We really enjoyed it. My daughter ordered the strawberry banana smoothie and it was awful it just tasted like watered down milk couldn’t even taste strawberries or bananas definitely not smoothie consistency which was disappointing considering it cost so much. I ordered the iced chai tea latte it was not good either. I would definitely recommend this place for food but not drinks.

I’ve been here a few times and they never give me my change so today I asked for my change. Because they actually owe me a free tea by this visit! The worker said “they don’t give change”. Then I got my drink and noticed it was alittle light. Opened it up to this much being empty. I sure will not be back.

Fantastic little cafe in seabrook. I had the avocado toast and it was some of the best I've had in Houston. The bread is homemade with delicious fresh avocado spread on top, poached eggs, bacon, and cherry tomatoes. My sister and mom loved their BLT sandwiches too. We also tried the berry mimosas and loved them. They make them with fresh fruit blended perfectly like a smoothie with a punch. :) We can't wait to go back!

Me and my family went here a few weeks ago. The food and mimosa's were excellent!! My mom and I had the blt sandwich and it was so good! The sauce is delicious and the bacon was cooked just right. Not raw or undercooked. The berry mimosa's were so refreshing too! My sister loved her avocado toast too. I can't wait to try it again!

Hubby found this place after we got booted out of another restaurant because they're full and there's an hour wait. I'm glad we got booted out there and we found this on Yelp! We walked in and only two other families and another lady in the restaurant.
I ordered the shakshuka, hubby got a custom order (omelette with Israeli salad), one kiddo had the Oreo waffle, and the little one got waffles with scrambled eggs. I ordered the chai latte and hubby wanted to try the Americano and the Affogato.
The owner had been the ultimate host. He had me try the Americano and gave me a strawberry

My boyfriend got the crispy chicken waffle with a sweet banana bee smoothie and I got the oreo waffle with an iced chai latte. The inside is so beautiful, the employees are so nice and have good food recommendations, and the food was presented aesthetically. They also have this cute thing where they put a mason jar of coffee beans with your silverware and your number for the table. It is kind of pricey for the amount of food you get but not crazy, hence only four stars. Perfect for a date night!

Very stylish restaurant. I would have thought l was in Austin had a nice vibe to the place.
We ordered the Jam Session burger and the Super Mario. Both burgers were delicious. They had their own unusual satisfying taste. The combination of the ingredients came together beautifully. We each ordered the truffle fries that was a huge order but oh so good.
The service was on point.
