Services
Dr. Schrumpf graduated from Ohio State University with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) after successfully completing over 900 hours of quality educational courses and the fellowship examination. Dr. Schrumpf is currently working toward Mastership designation in the AGD.
Dr. Herman hails from Louisville, Kentucky. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Kentucky, followed by his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville in 1982. After graduation, he participated in a one-year general practice residency with the United States Army at Fort Riley, Kansas, where he received advanced training in all major disciplines of dentistry.
Dr. "E.B." Santos, Jr., graduated from Xavier University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Sciences having maintained Presidential Scholarship level all four years of attendance.
In 2001, he graduated from West Virginia University School of Dentistry, during which he attained a full scholarship for his second year of the program, was president of Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity during his third year, was bestowed the Organization of Teachers Oral Diagnosis award, and graduated top 10 in his class.He has been practicing in the local area as a dentist since 2006, and has over twenty years of experience.

I called to have the $100 fee removed for not canceling an appointment within 48 hours but did so in 24 hours due to having tested positive for COVID. The office manager refused to remove the charge stating office policy. The fact that they were notified that I tested positive should have been understood. I am being penalized for coming down with the virus 24 hours before my appointment and not canceling in 48 when I didn’t test positive. How am I supposed to know that I was going to have COVID! New to the practice, and had a very detailed initial exam and consult which was impressive. I felt that Dr. Schrumpf was attentive and thorough. He catches tiny issues that other dentists have overlooked in their haste to get to the next patient. Will be back for cleaning, sleep apnea device and crowns.

I've had some canceled appointments and because of that I was told to "find another dentist" which is fine. There is a policy in place and it has to be followed but, the unprofessional manner in which I was handled is actually BENEATH the service that I have received while using this dentistry. ESTELLA the office manager doesn't deserve her position. If you can't talk to people in a professional way, then this isn't the job for you. Even if I was allowed to make another appointment, I wouldn't because of her!!!!!!

I was going to wait but honestly I'm so blown away Schrumpf & Herman Family Dentistry is amazing. My kids even love it there (4 & 7). We are a military family and so grateful to have found a place we can all go.
I was allowed back with my children and stayed with them the whole time. They do have a treasure box which is a big deal to my kids.
My new patient exam was the most thorough I have ever had. I felt extremely comfortable and never once did I feel like the process was rushed.

Dr. Herman is a great dentist very sweet and patient however the office staff member ESTELA KOONTZ was very rude to me and disrespectful I advised her I need to post pone my procedure due to my mothers death she responded via email “ is this due to a death or your plastic surgery in June “ I responded I would like to speak to the doctor or someone in management she blocked my email immediately I then called and was told they don’t know when the doctor will ever call me back after that my number no longer worked when I called them I emailed from my new email advised if I don’t speak with

Wonderful practice. The girls in reception are great with relaying calls back and forth as well as scheduling. They were also informative about insurance costs. Valerie was very professional and polite. She was very gentle on the mouth with cleaning and very educated and informative. Dr. Herman was also very professional. I look forward to my next visit here! Thanks to the staff 😀

I'm new to the office, but my dental fears went away soon. Dr. Shrumpf and the hygienist was very thorough, knowledgeable and welcoming during my visits. I've never had a dentist who spoke to me the way he did and explain in such detail and just take the time. I feel like they have realistic dental goals and treatments when it comes to my plan and maintenance. Definitely recommending to others.

My entire family goes to this office. The dental hygienists are knowledgeable, thorough, and caring. Dr. Schrumpf and Dr. Herman are always there to answer our questions and give us straight answers on our dental care. Especially when it comes to our children's dental care. I never feel like they are trying to steer us toward unnecessary procedures. Only what needs to be done to maintain our health. Val has been my hygienist for several years now, and knows my teeth so well that she recently noticed a difference on one of my teeth, which could potential save the tooth. That's attention

I initially came to Schrumpf & Herman in 2012 after not seeing a dentist for about 9 years. My dental health was a mess. They were so non-judgmental, patient and caring as they cared for my teeth. I even had my four wisdom teeth pulled in the office. I LOVE MY DENTISTS! Super skilled, friendly, great office staff and the BEST dental hygienist ever, Mary. You won't be disappointed!

I was unhappy with this dentist because of their lack of communication skills. I went in for a normal cleaning and was asked if it would be okay to come back the next day because the cleaning was a little more extensive than normal. (FYI: the same procedures were being used, same tools, nothing fancy was being done) i came back the next day and the cleaning was completed and then I was told that the "extra cleaning" was not covered under my insurance and I needed to pay almost $70 on top of what my insurance covered for my normal 6 month cleaning.
