Door County Bakery
At the Door County Bakery, it has been our objective to create a culinary point of destination in Door County. Our focus is to offer customers the best possible quality with regards to product as well as customer service and ambience. The DCB kitchen produces in house original recipes of European-Style breads and pastries, many of which are legally trademarked to DCB.

To augment this baking foundation, we have grown to embellish our enterprise with a breadth of international delicatessen entrees, specialty foods, wines and liquors, as well as a fabulous cappuccino bar, and two beautiful dining areas (indoors and outdoor patio) in which we offer delicious breakfast and lunch cuisine.
Services
The next time you visit the Door County Bakery, be sure to meet Don and Jean Thompson, the people who own the Door County Bakery. They take pride in what they've accomplished, and will be happy to answer any questions you might have about their bakery, fine wines, stained glass windows, the Back Door Studio, boating, tractors, and their love of Door County.
We're often asked, what's the best part of our jobs. While it's hard to pick from so many rewarding aspects of owning the bakery and meeting so many friends, we'd have to say the most favorite thing is watching someone taste our famous CORSICA LOAF for the first time. There's nothing like seeing the expression on their faces as they enjoy the wonderful goodness of our custom french bread infused with olive oil.
What a great review of Don's album Walk On in the Door County Pulse. Writer Jim Lundstrom provides a detailed and flattering description of Don's past vocal exploits in his 1975 album Jupiter, and then goes on to praise Donaldo's latest work, Walk On. Describing the songs on the album, Lundstrom gives special attention to Christine Mild, a Chicago singer who among her many credits is known for Always.

Cresants are not supposed to be like a small loaf of bread. Lemon squares were leathery.

What a joke, they have a huge sign on the door they expect u to read, then when u go in the owner yells at u because u go in. Make the sign shorter, people might read it. Pastry’s aren’t good, very dry.

We picked up a Corsica loaf this morning only to find that it was not fully baked in the middle, and the woman who we purchased the loaf from was incredibly rude. Very disappointed in the service and product. The Corsica bread is not what it used to be and not worth the price.

This place has the rudest people working there and the most outrageous prices. I've paid less for coffee and a pastry in downtown Paris France. This bakery is only open 5 hrs on Saturday! That's it for the whole week. Their food is awful as expected as they are not open long enough to have fresh food. It's obvious the owner is not interested in serving customers in Door Cty anymore. I hope they go out of business and someone who cares about running a good bakery and being kind to customers takes it over.

We have been coming here for over a decade, and I was kind of disappointed to see the turn the owners are taking with it. I might understand trying to do outdoor ordering just because of COVID, but it sounds like these steps are permanent and the charm of the bakery is gone. Prices were significantly higher than in the past. We like the Corsica bread but we used to get other stuff too (menu was limited). I just came away feeling like the quaint bakery I always knew was no more.

Open on the weekends only. Can't go inside due to the pandemic, but can place an order at the window and they bring it out to you. The corsica bread is absolutely phenomenal, baked perfectly every time. Get the equally good breadsticks if you want a smaller commitment. Their other bakery items are also great, particularly the ham and cheese croissants, which are great warmed up. Their prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for. Strongly recommend a visit while in Door County (bonus: visit and then go down the road to Koeppsels farm store!)

We love this bakery, unfortunately y'all need to get your ack together on your hours, open one day a week, really???
We tried to visit you two times this year and hours constantly change, I give up, your voice mail says you supply the commercial business, but we can't find stores that carry your full line of bakery goods.
Sorry but will no longer try to visit your store!

Was closed during our visit two different days during the week, so we had no opportunity to taste the various bakery or food

Over $16 for a loaf of bread??!! We were in shock...and thought it better be some damn good bread!! They charge by the pound rather than by the loaf so it's deceptive since you can't estimate how much a loaf of bread weighs. We figured about a pound at their $9+/lb rate. No, nearly 2 pounds!! After disappointing attempts to find sourdough bread in the grocery stores we happened upon this bakery that offered a sourdough loaf. All we got for $16 was a loaf of dense white bread. No sourdough flavor, none of the springy texture and bubbles of "real" sourdough bread! Amazingly, sourdough

We were disappointed by the high cost of everything! It is a very unique place and worth a visit for a first time stop in Door County but expect to pay for it! They have a delicious variety of bakery items with a little cafe bar and a dine in section also. It’s very cute inside and they sell a large selection of Door County made items. We won’t be back ourselves but are glad we made the one time stop.

I've heard about this place but I haven't been here in a long time and everyone I know had said the same. Now that we live right down the road we wanted to try it but we unfortunately will not be back. When lattes (only one size) is $7 a piece, with pastries being expensive as well the bill for two people for lattes and a pastry was $25! I know it's Door County but wow! The pastries were good and lattes were just that, lattes very average. NOT worth $25.

This place has always been a staple of the neighborhood. While pricy, it's well worth it as everything is made from scratch. We always go for the Corsica loaf which is a delicious meditation on fermented French style bread infused with a heavy dose of olive oil. Best to eat this fresh and we (in typical unhealthy fashion) love to smear it with butter. Highly recommend getting this in a half load or (if you're feeling up to the challenge) full load.

We love to come to Door County Bakery for some amazing pastries. They are always fresh and delicious! We have had great interaction with the people behind the counter as they work hard to get everyone taken care of in a friendly and timely manner. We have never sat in the restaurant....

I love this place. Don and Jean are wonderful and very welcoming to their guests. The food is great. I did buy some bread sticks today and it was a little more money than I remembered. Still a great place though.

Way too expensive. Terrible service.
Great looking space. Food is good and tasty but
The cost and turtle slow service ruins it.
We even bought bakery items to go...all hard and stale. Total let down.

We drove out on Monday; found out they're closed on Mondays. Then we tried again, and drove out on Tuesday. Sign said they had to close due to an "emergency". So then today, Wednesday, we drove out once more. It's a good half hour drive from where we stay in Egg Harbor, but my dad was dying to get some of their amazing bakery... Unfortunately, we left disappointed, and as much as my dad loves their bakery, he vowed never to return.

The main issue is the service. The woman serving us (older, gray hair, round black glasses) was very impolite, and inattentive. She couldn&apos

With all the great places to go in Door County I'd say skip this one. We bought a few items in the store after our meal and realized after the fact that they were expired. Not recently expired, I mean the exp was mid 2014... When we went back the next day we were told that they wouldn't accept returns since we couldn't prove when we had purchased them (lost the receipt) but we were literally there the DAY before for almost 2 hours and it was not busy. Finally after some back and forth they offered us a discount. This is totally unacceptable.
The food is mediocre and overpriced,

Worth the drive! We went for breakfast and tasted lots of the bakery treats: cherry cheese danish, cinnamon roll, cherry turnover, cake doughnut, oatmeal raisin cookies, chocolate glazed doughnut. The doughnuts weren't anything special, but the danish and turnover were excellent! Go with the cherries when it Door County!!! And they use a real espresso machine for mochas, cappuccino, and Americana coffee drinks which tasted really well. There's a larger breakfast menu, but since it's a bakery we just wanted to try their expertise.

Also it's owned by genuinely nice people that
