I've been coming here for years and their burgers and Sandwhiches never disappoint. I always get the mushroom teriyaki burger with pineapple. Now, that my husband and I live in tower, we frequent Irene's more often. My dogs tend to walk us right into tower and knows exactly where Irene's is because they have the best bacon. Their food is good, but needs a little salt sometimes, their prices may have gone up, but I haven't really noticed. I think it may be time to revamp the place up a little. The food is always a hit and miss. I had eggs with sausage and toast. The fn sausage looked old and it was cold and tasted gross. The toast was good but you can't mess up bread. I like the patio eating area and I've had their lunch sandwiches in the past and it was good. Their service is not bad and the locations is great. But they sometimes mess up their food. Overall so so

I don't enjoy poor reviews but need to warn other possible patrons here.
COCKROACHES do not belong in a food establishment. Just before our food came out, so did the cockroach. We should have left immediately. When we alerted our waitress who honestly didn't seem surprised, she didn't see it right away but then referenced the dead fly on top of the booth before killing the roach and going on her way. When I spoke to the manager, he advised they sprayed this morning but anyone who deals with pest control knows people shouldn't be around the spray and it takes

I have no idea what happened to this place but it has gone to the toilet! We went there for lunch and it was absolutely filthy. There were crumbs and dirt on the window sills, dirt and grime on the floors, and a guarantor cockroach crawling on the wall. Once we saw THAT... we cancelled our order and went to the cashier to pay for our drinks. That's when we were told we didn't have to pay for our drinks, and asked to leave. I'm really disappointed because I use to love Irene's!

My granddaughters went in for lunch 8/15/2021 and were not treated well at all! They had to go up to ask for anything they needed. The young girl working there was wearing her earphones. My oldest granddaughter is young but works at a restaurant and knows how patrons should be treated.

It was pretty average, I think their service could have improved the waiters we had weren't the best. We went for breakfast my friends & I. I had pancakes & sausage & a coffee for about 16 bucks, my friend had the meat lovers (not pictured & that looked amazing), my other friend also said their eggs Benedict was awesome. .
Im doing this review from my experience & my food.My pancakes were large & I took some home the sausage you can't tell were actually shriveled & not picturesque. Just the service was not up to par it woulda made a difference.

Went to dinner tonight. It was nice to see that it was open but I now understand why it was a ghost town inside. There was no a/c. Good mean it's usually warm inside but it was just unbearable. I ordered my favorite Cobb salad and something was different. It wasn't iceberg lettuce but a lettuce mix that was mostly cabbage. The chicken was barely done and there wasn't any blue cheese in the salad but feta instead. That would've been ok but I dislike feta. It was just ok tonight. Not sure I'll be back for awhile.

Been going here for years but this last visit was very underwhelming. Seems like the quality of food has dropped a bit. Ingredients were left out of the meal and the flavor was missing too. I don't remember the last time I had to add so much salt to an entree to bring some kind of taste to it, only for it to still be bland.

With a cute outdoor patio facing Olive Ave., this a great location to visit. Especially on a sunny afternoon while enjoying a cup of Coffee. With outdoor seating being restricted on and off, I continue to order take out when I am in the mood for a hearty veggie burger (it's huge!) and not in the mood for meat alternatives. This is their own receipe so you won't find it anywhere else. I always call ahead and my order is always ready. Warning: their fries are addicting! I recently meet the management/or the owners and the were just as sweet as the serving staff. I am happy to see this business

I called in and spoke to Steven. He was very nice. I ordered a grilled chicken bagel sandwich w/ no mayo, mustard or oil & vinegar and with a green salad for the side and vinaigrette dressing on the side. You get to choose from many different bagels and I picked the garlic bagel.
The workers are masked.
I went in and my order was not ready yet. I paid for the order and waited for it to be ready. It wasn't ready until much later after I was told, but they were busy.
No indoor seating. A nice area for outdoor sitting and eating.

I ventured outside my comfort zone of grilled cheese and fries and ordered the Cobb salad. Cobb is typically made with chopped greens, tomato, crisp bacon, boiled, grilled or roasted chicken breast, hard-boiled eggs, avocado, chives, blue cheese, and red-wine vinaigrette. According to Irene's online menu, the restaurant omits chives which was not a game changer but I could easily add. I ordered takeout and only substitution was raspberry vinaigrette.

This place is a Fresno staple. Breakfast and lunch - all is great. They have no issues making specialty stuff. My favorites are their omelette for breakfast and the BLT for lunch. The amount of bacon they put on the BLT is way more than expected.
The packaging for to-go orders is done very well, and the access to call in orders and the ease of pickup is nice. Parking can be an issue if you go during the lunch or breakfast peak hours. I try to get there before the rush.

A great diner right in the middle of the Tower District. I've eaten here many times and find it to be a great spot for breakfast or lunch. I've never had a bad meal here. Today I went in for lunch and ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was perfectly cooked. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I'd definitely recommend this place and have done so to many people. A very cool place to stop in for a bite while kicking it in Tower.

I LOVE Irene's Cafe (shocked I've never made a review - probably because I mean to take pics but when the food comes, we just dig in haha). We've come for breakfast, lunch and dinner and everything is always good. My favorite is the patty melt and their fries. I usually don't care for steak fries because they're often soft but Irene's makes them crisp and done perfectly.
They're situated on a busy corner in the Tower District with the patio out front so you go through the patio to enter. We prefer to sit on the patio whenever we can, it's just perfect people
