South Shore Wine
The Mazza family has been making craft beverages on the shores of Lake Erie for nearly 50 years. Beginning with a single vineyard in 1972, our family - and beverage list - has grown to include five locations and dozens of products, including spirits and craft beers. Today, Mazza produces more than 385,000 gallons of fresh juice and wine and has approximately 550 acres under grapes and grain cultivation in Lake Erie Wine Country.

The fertile land that surrounds us contributes to both the inspiration behind and flavor within our craft beverages. From grapes to grain, we partner closely with local growers, and some of the agricultural products that end up in our bottles are grown right on our own property. Whether you're raising a wine glass, pint glass, or rocks glass, you can sip with the knowledge that the ingredients that you're enjoying haven't traveled far.
Services
Nestled along the shores of Pennsylvania's Lake Erie Wine Country, Mazza Vineyards invites you to share in a truly enjoyable winemaking and tasting experience. A scenic drive to the winery along East Lake Road (Route 5) will lead you through mile after mile of vineyard. It is from these and other local vineyards that we choose the grapes to produce our award-winning wines.
Mazza, a name long-known in the local wine world, introduced a new location of Mazza Chautauqua Cellars in 2013. Originally in Mayville, NY, now located in Westfield, this location features an expanded distillery and brewery named Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing.

We welcome visitors to taste from our selection of fine wines and from our new line of small-batch distilled spirits and craft beers as they peer out onto acres of surrounding farmland, which is now home to grains used for spirit (and beer) production.
The South Shore Wine Company was originally established by grape-growing pioneers William Griffith and Smith S. Hammond over 150 years ago. This must-see stone wine cellar, now home to the sister winery of Mazza Vineyards, stands testimony to the beginnings of the now flourishing grape and wine industry in Erie County.
For nearly 50 years, our family has established a heritage of exceptional winemaking, but as you'd expect from any trio of siblings, each experience brings its own "something special" to the table - or tasting bar, as the case may be.

Step inside our rustic, Mediterranean-style tasting room, and sample a fascinating wine list that ranges from crisp and pristine to robust and fruit-forward thanks to the influences of a diverse lineage of international winemakers.Escape into a Civil War-era stone cavern tasting room or seasonal patio and sip on flights of sparklings, crisp whites, and a collection of sweeter wines.
First established in 2005 and opened in 2006, the distillery at Mazza Chautauqua Cellars was the first in the region. Demand for distilled products grew, and the expansion of the distillery became an obvious next step. In the Summer of 2013, the distillery moved to the new Mazza Chautauqua Cellars / Five & 20 Spirits and Brewing in Westfield, NY, where 80 acres of surrounding farmland allowed it to grow into a grain-to-glass operation.

My favorite winery in North East! Their flight deals are a great way to try their wines. I love their desert wine. We leave with at least 3 bottles every time we visit. The cheese they offer is great as well - I love the bacon Gouda. The staff is always patient & informative. The space is so unique!

Excellent service and helpful explanation of wines during wine tasting. Visited with my daughter and service was excellent for early visit by just the 2 of us. Loved the concord wine and was able to also purchase 2 bottles of grape juice for my underage daughter (Red & White). We really enjoyed this visit.

I love the Barebones Rose and Chamburcin from this winery. Two of my all time favorites. I also love the rustic stone wine cellar that the tasting and sales rooms are located in. I love the wine cellar so much that I took my engagement photos there.

My bestie holds a winery tour for her birthday every year, and South Shore Wine Co. is only one of two places that we have hit every time. It's a crowd favorite, because it's got a spacious tasting area in the cellar and the wines are excellent. My personal favorite is the Honey Mead, which I buy a bottle of every year.

Such a lovely venue and gracious hosts. You enter and walk down some stairs entering into a gorgeous spot that was a stone cavern in the 1860's and has been restored as of 2007. Our host gave us the rundown on its history and he was very enthusiastic about it. It's supposed to be one of only a few in this French style left in the United States.

We walked towards the back to the tasting room, another visually appealing space. Our server was, again, gracious, in explaining more about the space and the wines. The upstairs space when purchased was sagging into the lower portion space

Visited here as a side stop while on a garden tour. The wine tasting room dates back to the 1800's. My friends and I had sandwiches and a cheese platter in the café restaurant. We sat in an enclosed porch that was very clean and lovely. I had chicken salad on a croissant. Very good. My friends split a Reuban melt and Turkey melt panini sandwiches with a side of potato salad. All of our sandwiches were very tasty and the potato salad was home made. Staff was great especially considering that we came in at 4:30 and they were closing at 5. They were very accommodating. The prices were very

South Shore was my favorite of the three Mazza locations. It was an actual wine cellar. The wines were good and the staff were friendly.

They also had a cafe, but I didn't visit it.

If you're traveling by bicycle, you've got a bit of a climb up the hill to it from State Road 5.

I was part of a group of 35 members when when we visited this location. From the moment we arrived we received a negative attitude from the employees. We paid for a wine sampling after the disrespectful treatment, with the hopes that service would improve. Myself and my fiance along with many others requested a refund after the second drink due to the poor service.
I would not recommend visiting this Vineyard due to the poor service. As far as their wines go, I cannot provide an accurate review as I left before I was able to taste an ample size sample.

What a super place to visit. My wife and I stopped in while we were in Erie celebrating our anniversary. The wine tasting room was exceptional as it was in an underground cellar. Ken helped us with many selections and samples. He was kind enough to explain the differences between each wine.

We had a sandwich and strawberry soup which was excellent. The edamame salad was delicious well as the chicken avocado wrap.
I would highly recommend stopping in for a tour.

What a neat winery! The tasting room is actually underground in a stone cavern. It was quite crowded when we visited this past weekend around 5:15 on a Saturday. Also of note, it is a sister winery to Mazza and tokens for tastings can be used at both. I did a six tasting option for $3 and my bf did a 3 or 4 tasting option. I tried the lemberger (medium bodied red oaked wine described as having black cherry and and pepper hints), the bare bones moscato (a sweeter wine), the veltliner (white described as aromatic and fruity), blackberry (full bodied, medium sweet), raspberry mead (honey mead and

Tasting room = Great atmosphere in a beautiful old wine cellar. Large expansive bar just dripping with character and charm. Friendly staff and very very busy, so I'm glad we weren't in any hurry. The wines all tasted good and they even had some mead. All of the prices for tasting and bottles seemed reasonable. Very small tasting pours, metered out to exact amounts. Can't blame them for that though. Overall a good experience. 4 stars.

Vintage cafe = Understaffed, overpriced. They were out of many of the menu selections. Food took forever to come out and when it did, it just tasted

Vintage Cafe.... completely disappointing, over- priced, average at best sandwiches. Everything is pre-made from Curtze food vendors. Nice atmosphere. ... but terrible food. We expected better since South Shore Winery is such a nice little experience.

My Wife and I have visited dozens and dozens of wineries ove the course of the last 30 years and found this quaint winery near the shore of lake Erie.

The wines were mostly of the North American grape varieties but all were decent. None stood out, however.

What did stand out, though, was the tasting room. A converted wine cave it has the feel of walking into a medieval wine cellar. Very cool.

We didn't eat at the cafe but from our point of view it was worth the stop.

Our first stop on the wine tour--a beautiful tasting room and the delightful Danielle assisted us. Of the tastings the three we enjoyed were:
Traminette
Ice wine of Vidal Blanc
Forte of chamboircin

We held out for Mazza as she encouraged us to try the other ice wines they had available.
