Born in Cuba, Dr. Mendez completed dental school at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, located in Havana, in 1980.

This dental office is one of the best. Usually you wait on hold, have to go through an automated service to speak to someone. This office is amazing, someone answers right away- old school and I love that. They are super personable and friendly. His staff are all super nice and he’s a efficient and thorough dentist. His receptionist, Tina, is so sweet and has always accommodated me with my busy schedule. I definitely suggest going here !

Began seeing Dr mendez for a crown that seemed to never fit properly which was also constantly causing pain due to food getting collected underneath after my exam he determined the entire crown needed to be replaced his assistant julie was very helpful explaining to me why i needed a new one , and although the process was a bit lengthy approximately 15 days i am a very happy patient

Coming here is just something else. Dr mendez is very rude and seriously needs to work on his cummunication and that temper of his with his employees and clients. I have not ever experienced this type of service from a dentist office in my life. I would give his staff a 4 star only because his front staff are kind and have better customer service and cummunication with his clients, but for now it's a one due to dr. mendez

Dr. Mendez is a nice man and decent dentist.however shortly after I get a crown there he stopped taking myself insurance, and now several months later the crown has to be removed.
Perhaps not his fault but I thought from the beginning it did not fit right ,but he said it is normal,and now this crown did not prevent me from needing a root canal now.So I give a mediocre score.

I am an HMO patient From June 30 2015 thru January 26 2016, I have been to this office 12 times! Initial visit was great. Slowing declining service and absolute incompetence! I went for new dentures. The lab they use is incompetent! My upper plate had crooked teeth in it. My lower plate was missing a tooth. He remade the uppers, to try to fit with lowers. 2 months later the lower plate broke. His lab fixed the lower plate, and lo and behold, biting into a hot dog, the lower plate broke again in the same spot. I have only 2 natural teeth in my mouth, my canine's or eye teeth. Mind you

Look out for this guy, or year ago he told me all my teeth were going to fall out and refused to clean my teeth. Then I went in for a teeth cleaning and a co-pay of $50. After that I had pain in my tooth and he showed me a picture which showed stains all over my teeth. This is right after he cleaned my teeth so I asked him why didn't he clean no stains he said it's too hard to see. This guy is a sneaky jive guy I would keep away from him for sure.

The worse customer service the girls at the front desk are super rude as you walk in they don't greet you at all I waited seated with pain for 20 min without any staff asking how can I help you or I'll be right with you !

If you have HMO dental insurance STAY AWAY form this office! Says he takes the insurance but don't question the charges or the way they do things otherwise they put off your care and eventually request your transfer to another dentist as it just happened to our family!
Our cleanings, in September of 2011, were quick and involved a polish only. I was told, as another Yelp reviewer stated, your insurance doesn't cover the full cleaning. My insurance strongly disagreed with this statement and discussed this with the dentist's office. Then I was informed that our next cleanings

Wow, what a waste of time! I had a "cleaning" this morning which lasted less than 3 minutes and consisted of "polishing" No flossing, no plaque removal, just minty paste in my mouth. After the three minutes were over, I asked what happened to the rest of the cleaning...I was told that my insurance does not cover it and it would be a $60 fee. My insurance company called this dentist on my behalf and was told that this was how they define a "cleaning." Pathetic! My insurance provider immediately offered to allow me to pick another primary care dentist. Don't waste
