Natural sourdough starter, a 12-hour rise, and plenty of hydration come together to create a complex loaf. We are excited to be part of the resurgence of wholesome bread baking across the country. In addition to whole loaves, we prepare a daily selection of pastries, healthful salads, sandwiches and soups, and offer a full-service espresso bar featuring Counter Culture Coffee.

We are inspired by our love of travel, experience working and living overseas, as well as our desire to bring beautiful, healthful, and natural, food to the area. Visit us at our bakery and retail store in downtown Millburn, and our retail kiosk in The Mall at Short Hills! Sourdoughs take time to make.

Delicious as always. Ginger snap cookies are phenomenal. Quiche, lox avocado toast, chocolate croissants are some of our other favorites.

Everything that comes out of the oven here is amazing. The babka is my personal favourite. The coffee however leaves a lot to be desired. The espresso is really poor and the filter is not great either. For the price is not acceptable. If I could get decent coffee here this place would be 5 stars all day. Please fix the coffee!

This place has been such a welcome addition to Millburn. Their baking experience and passion is reflected in the breads, pastries, sandwiches, coffees, etc. I really miss sitting in Liv Breads with a group of friends. Their space had (and still has although indoor seating isn't currently permitted) a nice, light openness and energy. I hope indoors seats returns when permissible.
In particular, Liv Breads' babka is a revelation. For our family and friends in Connecticut, NY and Southern NJ it has become a holiday staple. It is the only item we are asked / now required to bring to family gatherings

Got iced latte and mozzarella sandwich ( mozzarella, spinach and harissa). Delish! The cashier had difficulty understanding orders, but it may be the mask. The servers immediately fixed it when informed. The bakery gets very crowded on days when nearby Starbucks is closed, so there may be a long line. The quality of food and coffee is great! And you support local businesses I also got fudge slice and chocolate croissant. They are amazing.

Love the welcoming feel of this bakery! It was busy when I went but the line moved quickly. The service was friendly.
I thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside in the nice weather- sipping my coffee and eating a chocolate croissant. Would definitely recommend!

There are the most qualified, gentle, and considered workers. This Bakery have a particular high ultimate hallmark of culinary excellence.

It's a lovely basket in Millburn, but $7 for focaccia... Well, at the end of the day was cold and dry. The sweet Jerusalem bagels were $3. And the chocolate croissants looked great. End of day, probably not the best. Go early for the freshest and best selections.

I was looking for a pre-hike coffee when I saw this place, other reviews hyped the Chocolate Babka so I had to try for myself. The hype is well deserved because it was incredibly soft, rich and delicious. The cortado was a great pair too.

Absolutely fantastic experience, by far the best baked goods I’ve had in the US. I stumbled across Liv via their kiosk at Short Hills, and decided that I needed to visit the mother ship. The croissants are delicious, flaky, buttery, full of flavor. The focaccia is so good I could have eaten it all day long.
I look forward to coming back here regularly, cannot recommend highly enough.

Mixed experience. While I should be supporting and encouraging such bakeries to open and prosper, I want at the same time that these do the correct food. You don't need to americanize food that is not American. Quantity is not quality. Having a croissant the size of 3 does not not make it better and actually does not allow anyone to enjoy anything else. Also the taste and ingredients(for the frangipane as much as chocolate) need to be improved. The blueberry financier is more of a muffin than a financier at all levels... The upside down orange cake is better to be named flourless almond cake with
