In the late 1970's Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens was established and now has five developed gardens including a Garden of Honor to pay tribute to the men and women of the Armed Services who give so much to our country and for our freedom.The gardens are also home to a beautiful granite mausoleum which sits overlooking the memorial gardens and the lush landscaping.

In March, I was told my husband had maybe 2 weeks left to live. I went to Walker Chapel Funeral Home to make arrangements while I was still able to think clearly. My husband and I wanted to be cremated and no funeral service or visitation. My husband was also a veteran and wanted to be interred at the National Cemetery in Montevallo. Matthew Roper handled every thing for me and was such a comfort. He contacted the cemetery and arranged a small ceremony before my husband's ashes were placed in his space. He did not pressure me to make any choices or decisions - and answered every questions I had
