The Bushelon Funeral Home, Inc. was established in 1975 by Aubrey Bushelon and his family. The establishment is located at 800 14th Street SW in the historic city of Birmingham. The family owned business was established on the principle of providing "premier professional services for all families desiring the best."
A funeral or memorial is a customary way to recognize death and its finality. Funerals are held for the living to show respect for the dead and to help survivors begin the grief process. They also give mourners a chance to share stories, create memories, fulfill religious beliefs & customs, participate in a support system, and gather at a peaceful place during a time of confusion and uncertainty.
Holding a funeral or memorial service for your loved one is a positive first step in the grieving process. Family members and friends get a chance to say their goodbyes, and at the same time, they get to share strong feelings with one another. In the days, weeks and months following the service, people continue to need others to lean on for understanding, encouragement and guidance.

My mother, Diane Williams Kennedy, passed from COVID 19 July 2020 at a time when no one wanted to perform open casket services. Bushelon rolled out the red carpet for my family: Slide Show continually playing during viewing of mom’s body, setting up 2 huge tents for a graveside service that made you feel like you’re inside of the church walls, flower arrangements, patience, very accommodating and exuded superb professionalism. Customer service topnotch! Thank you Bushelon Funeral Home Inc for an unforgettable celebration of my mother’s life.

My family has used Bushelon Funeral Home for as long as I can remember. They treat their clients like family and show professionalism, compassion, patience and sincere kindness in all they do!
