There are 101 decisions to make when a loved one dies. And knowing everything is taken care of beforehand frees you from making tough decisions at a time when making them could be hard. Your life is unique. And Pre-Planning through The Masters Funeral Home guarantees a funeral that is just as unique as you, or the loved one you want to remember.
We trace our roots in the community back to 1944 when Ira S. Smith opened a funeral home on S. 2nd street. In 1953, Quincy Masters, Jr. purchased that funeral home and changed the name to Masters Funeral Home. Almost sixty years later that name has become the most trusted family funeral home in Putnam County.
A 6th generation Floridian, Quincy was born in St. Petersburg, FL and has been a resident of Palatka since he was two years old. He is a second generation Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He received an Associate of Science degree from the Miami-Dade Junior College School of Mortuary Science in Miami, FL. in 1970.
The questions we have chosen to represent our Frequently asked questions page are resourced from the Division of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services of the State of Florida. I purchased burial plots in Florida and have moved out of state; will the cemetery refund my contract or buy back the spaces?
Caring for yourself is not selfish. The period of recovery is different for every person. There is no timetable for grief, so don't compare yourself with others who have lost loved ones. Your life has changed and healing in your own way is important for the health of your mind, body and spirit. It's normal for some days to be better than others.
