Looks like my 25 year relationship with Stow Kent Animal Hospital is over. It's been nothing but good until now. I have apparently just barely timed out of their system and since it's been more than 24 months they are refusing to see my pet even for a non-emergency type visit. I'm not in a hurry, just wanted an appointment. Was directed to a supervisor who told me the same thing. She said it was the owners decision. I asked if the owners would call me and I was told that they were "retired and living in Florida". I took that as a they don't care kind of statement.

If it was possible to give this location a 0/5 I would.
When we arrived for our APPOINTMENT we were put on hold for 20+ minutes. While I understand there is a queue, when scheduled for euthanasia, there should be a different protocol like a different phone number to call or a separate door to access. Instead we sat in the car listening to classical music and a scared dog panting while we waited for them to take our call. Once the call was taken, we were told by the receptionist that four people could come into the room. As a wife to a member of the family, I was overjoyed that my husband and his

2nd time we took our dog there to find out why he constantly acts like he is choking on something. We got no answer on what the problem is. So i spent $355 and still got nothing in return. We will not be returning there and will find another vet. I spent alot of money trying to help him and they basically did nothing. They are about the money not the actual care of your pet.

I have been taking my animals here for 20 years. The vets are good, but the ladies booking the appointments are so rude. I called to book an appointment for my dog, and the woman was having a hard time pulling up my record. She told me that my dog was not affiliated with the practice. I told her I have been going there for 20 years. She kept sighing into the phone and then she scolded me for having the record in my name, but under my husband's phone number. It took her 20 minutes to find the record. The entire time, she was rude with me and kept making snide comments. Finally, I told her that she

The staff has gone out of their way to meet the needs of animals throughout the pandemic. In addition, they were very kind and empathetic with the sudden illness of my beloved but elderly pet. The doctor provided suggestions in an appropriate manner and assuring me that I gave my pet the best life and lots of love.

I find it strange that my previous one star review from 2012 has magically disappeared. But to sum up my experience then, DO NOT take your reptiles here! I specifically asked if they saw Russian tortoises and was told they do- the doctor I saw was beyond unprofessional and misdiagnosed my tort. Thanks to her ignorance (as well as Memorial Animal Hospitals who had previously , it cost me over $600.00 to have Paul hospitalized & treated correctly.
However, that was in 2012 & I feel things have drastically improved since. My previous vet really screwed my family & I over & after

We absolutely love this vet. They have been there for us through having to put our beloved Chow down and caring for our pet dealing with huge tumors. Sometimes the waiting room time is a bit long but they are always very thorough when talking to us and helping out with our dogs. Many friends have gone here and their recommendations were what brought us here to begin with.

I can say that the doctors obviously care and are passionate...for the animals. What I find unacceptable is the fact that I was seen for a 10:30 appointment at 12:50; with no apologies, no acknowledgement of the fact that I spent an hour and 20 minutes of my day off waiting. Perhaps, a quick call to inform me "heads up..we are running late" would have been considerate of my time. I could have spent this time running my errands. And, truthfully this is a pattern..maybe not that late, but typical to be seen half hour after appointment time.

Let me start off by saying I have been going here with my dog for twelve years. I used to love this place, and recommended it frequently. My dog needed an x-ray on his leg, and I was encouraged to have my dog receive his upcoming Lepto and Rabies vaccines to avoid another office call-I agreed. After my dog was brought back to me from his x-ray, I was told he had his vaccines while he was in the back and that he may be tired for the rest of the day. My vet invoice has no record of him receiving vaccines at his visit and I received no rabies tag/certificate. I called to check into this, and the person

My pets have now been patients for 4.5 years and I am extremely happy with the care they've received from every doctor and tech they've seen. The staff and doctors are passionate about animals and it clearly shows. When my pet died, I could not have asked for a more caring doctor. The staff was wonderful as well. It made a difficult situation more bearable. The fact that they offer payment plans is also helpful.

I've been to Stow-Kent animal hospital quite a few times now. With a 4 cat family, someone is almost always feeling under the weather. I have met with 4 of the facility's vets and I found all of them to be quite nice, courteous, and knowledgeable. I told them I was a student with a limited budget and they are always working with me to get the cheapest treatment available. They've filed some visits are re-checks so that I would not have to pay a fee and even given us some free medication once when they had to "empty the old bottle".

Compared to other vets in the area, Stow-Kent's prices are out of the ballpark. I don't blame them though, because they always seem to stay busy and people will pay an are and a leg for their precious little Fifi....
Even though they are much more expensive, it is easier to get a last-minute appointment that at surrounding vets. Be prepared to wait around in the waiting room for sometimes and hour or longer though.
When they take your pet in the back to get their shots, etc., they refuse to let you come back with them. I have had other vets who always let the owner's come
