We understand that there's no such thing as a "one-size-fits-all" approach to veterinary medicine which is why our treatment plans and recommendations are just as unique as the patients we see.
Primary Pet Care in Stow was founded in 2010 with the mission to make veterinary care accessible and affordable for all pet owners. We started out with one veterinarian and a small support staff, and have now expanded our facilities, services, and team to include a second location in Fairlawn, and three veterinarians with a support team of over 20.
Providing high quality veterinary care to cats and dogs in Stow and the surrounding communities since 2010. Diagnostic imaging allows our veterinarians to look at your pet internally for clues about sickness or injury. Primary Pet Care - Stow offers preventive care and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Bringing your pet to one of our veterinarians for a physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep them healthy. At Primary Pet Care - Stow, our goal is keeping your pet happy and healthy. Thanks to modern diagnostics and our on-site laboratory, we're able to do just that for sick and injured pets. Diagnostic imaging allows us to examine your pet's internal organs and body systems to better diagnose their conditions.

This place is going down. Last year during covid they left my husband and our dog sitting in the car for nearly 4 hours waiting for an appointment. This year I scheduled a routine vaccine appointment but they could not schedule it until a month and a half out. A couple days before the appointment they called and told me they had to cancel cuz the doctor was going to be on vacation so I had to reschedule in which they didn't have an appointment for another month out. 2 days before that appointment they called me to say they were closing down unexpectedly because someone had tested positive with

Let me start by saying I’ve been bringing my cat to the stow office for close to a decade and it’s been great. I had an appointment scheduled last week so I got off work, got my cat and took him to the office on time for my appointment and there was a sign on the door that said “closed unexpectedly.” No phone call to let me know. So fine, I made another appointment for today for vaccines, flea/tick meds, and claws trimmed. Just routine right? I bring in my cat and I see all new faces and the culture is just cold and unfriendly. They take him away from me and leave me in the exam room which

I would like to start by saying that several of my family and friends come to this office and have done so for well over 10 years. I want to start with the positives, vaccines administered well and I love they have appointments now. That being said their customer service lacks severely. It seemed that they didn’t really want to be asked questions, like trust us and do as we say or don’t but don’t bother with questions. Also pricing has gone up, totally understandable but I don’t understand why long time customers weren’t informed of the new ownership & changes being implemented, including

I’ve been trying to have my pet neutered for two months and they keep rescheduling, assuring me that they will have someone to perform the surgery each time. I took them for their word, each time, and scheduled my life and work around it. They have cancelled with me yet again. It’s fine if you don’t have the bandwidth for surgery at this time but don’t promise people it will work out when you don’t know if it will - stop wasting people’s time and refund them their money so they can get things taken care of elsewhere until you have the bandwidth again.

I’ve been using Primary Pet Care since I got my dog - over 10 years ago. They’ve always been professional, friendly and courteous. My dog wags her tail every time and seems to like going to the vet. I really appreciate them being understanding when I had an out-of-state family emergency and needed to get my dog vaccinated so that the kennel will take her. I highly recommend Primary Pet Care to everyone looking for affordable vet care.

Primary Pet Care is affordable and does an OK job at routine checkups. However, the reasons for a 1 star review are plenty. They have a difficult time answering the phone and are not responsive to voice messages or emails. Their no (or limited) appointment approach is terrible. I waited in the parking lot for 3 hours one day after checking in. I had no choice but to stay since it was the only day I had off and my dog was having hip problems. And the cherry on top was last week when I found my dog lifeless on the living room floor after she got in the trash and suffocated inside a chip bag. We called

I've used a different vet in the area for over 12 years for my pets. My dog Deacon came down with a nasty bug last week. I called my regular vet 3 different times trying to make an appointment for my boy. he was hacking horribly and I was really worried. my vet refused to schedule me unless it was 2 weeks out. I tried at least 6 vets in the area to… get him in quick without having to get ripped off with an ER visit. EVERY single vet's office said go to med or metro. I cannot afford what the ER charges. I came across Primary Pet care from a thorough search. I called last night and explained

The stow office definitely has some staff with attitude problems. I called multiple times to try to get heartworm for my dog. I had to leave messages because I couldn’t get through to staff. I specifically asked they call me back to verify they got my message and to call when the medication would be ready. I never received any calls. Fast forward a… few months called again finally got through and they said they called me multiple times and left messages they were restocking my meds bc I never picked them up...all not true. I never had any calls or messages. Then they told me if I want

I took all 3 of my dogs to the Fairlawn, OH location because I was worried about kennel cough. We were 45 minutes late being seen, and the staff vaccinated my male Rot for Rabies and DAPP without asking me and despite the fact that he had the Rabies tag on his collar at the time of the visit. They told me that they don't check for tags on the collars, they rely on verbal communication!?!? They are the ones that hand out the tags when you get vaccinated! They refunded the price of the shots, but not the price of the "exam" that was so thorough that they didn't check his tags

Took my cat in for a visit this afternoon and even though they were swamped, they still took time to make sure I had the information I needed for my pet. They were also able to squeeze in lady's cat who was… older and in lots of pain, so she didn't have to try a more expensive vet. Yes, they were booked out, but they did the best they could and were very polite and courteous. Usually go to the Fairlawn office, but would also recommend this one! Thanks to all of you. See you again soon!

Even in the midst of covid, the staff has been great! The appointments were about a month out & and my dogs were taken in a bit late but they do the best they can. The girls came out to get our dogs, asked questions, went over health history & took them in. The doctor called us within a half hour & we were on our way. Not much difference in the service or framework except the humans wait in the car!

We've taken a couple of our pets there, and the staff was really nice and gentle with the pets. My one dog has is hyper and has anxiety so he doesn't do well with others and the Tech came out to get him, and took him straight back. That put me at ease also bc I was worried what I was going to do. But it was a good visit! Their prices are also VERY reasonable!

Recommend them yes. But had an unfortunate incident this week. They gave me the wrong flea and heart worm medicine. I noticed it when I got home. They would NOT let me return or exchange it. It wasn’t my fault that they gave me the wrong meds! Basically I now have to wait a month before getting the right med. I was told the office manager would call me to discuss but I did not receive a call. Moral of the story; check meds before you leave the office 😢

Absolutely love primary pet care, mostly because of the great care, but also for the convenience of walk in appointments.
However, today was the second time I have loaded my very difficult cat into the carrier… To find that the clinic is closed. I checked the website and Facebook page prior to driving to the clinic, and it was not posted anywhere. Holiday hours state thanksgiving and Friday after.

My parents always used a vet in the Falls, and when I got my own pet and started looking for a vet that was affordable and reliable, hands-down I cannot recommend PPC more. Great and caring vets, and the staff is kind and supportive. I have lived in both Stow and Fairlawn and the service is wonderful.

We took our two rescue dogs there for the first time last year when we relocated to Stow. Unfortunately, when we returned there yesterday to have one of our dogs for an annuals checkup, the line was outside the door, which was good considering the 80+ degree heat. We went back again today, only to be told that there were 11 people ahead of us. We're finding another vet!

I can't say enough great things about Primary Pet Care, I love their staff & I love their prices! This is the place to go if you are on a budget or a really tight schedule and need basic vaccinations or basic care.
Although I also love Memorial Animal Hospital, I had been going there 1 to 2 times per month in hopes of getting rid of a continuous ear infection issue my pitt had. Of course they charged me for every single visit & meds that only got rid of the problem for a week or two but didn't prevent it from reoccurring. I had discussed changing to a grain-free diet with them

This review is for both the Fairlawn and Stow Locations, since they're so very similar and I've seen the same veterinarians at both locations.
PPC is not a full service animal hospital, so I will not dock stars from my rating just because they're not full service.
PPC is a low cost animal hospital for routine visits and non-serious illnesses. If you need a check-up, vaccines, or if your furry friend has a non-serious illness, I strongly recommend PPC. Visits here will cost about half of what they will elsewhere. They do not perform surgeries and I do not believe they have an X

I took two dogs for vaccine updates. I was worried that there would be some hidden fee and/or the care would be lacking. I was very pleasantly surprised. NO HIDDEN COST and the CARE WAS OUTSTANDING. Everyone was polite and helpful. The bonus was my bill was slightly over a 100 for two dogs to be completely vaccinated and heart worm testing for both.
The preventative visit cost was $18 instead of the $60 our previous vet charges.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this vet! I will be taking my babies back here!!!
Be sure to check out their website for pricing.

If you are looking for a cost effective vet solution and can do the "first come, first served", wait, this is a great alternative to a regular vet. No appointment required, I recommend going as soon as they open if you can.
Staff and Dr. were courteous and efficient. Prices are clearly stated on a large board above the check-in desk.
This was my cheapest vet visit in years. Worth a wait if you can spare the time.
