El Segundo High School
This event is ideal for 8th grade and future ESHS families, but anyone can join and stream. Eligible Students also receive fee waivers for AP, ACT, PSAT, SAT and College Applications. A group of seniors in El Segundo High School's Biomedical Science Pathway recently experienced "a day in the life of an anesthesiologist" thanks to a pilot partnership with UCLA's Department of Anesthesiology and the California Society of Anesthesiologists (CSA).

El Segundo High School will provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become lifelong learners, effective communicators and socially productive citizens who are prepared for life choices and challenges in a global society. El Segundo High School is committed to actively educating and standing against racism, celebrating diverse experiences, and recognizing the value each person brings to the Eagle family.
Services
Housed in a classic 1927 landmark building, El Segundo High School claims the mantle of "California Distinguished High School, " an award bestowed upon the campus in spring of 2003 and again in 2007. Furthermore, in 2008, Newsweek Magazine placed ESHS in the top 5% of high schools nationally.

Additionally, the El Segundo Unified School District, in 2007, had the honor of being named one of Standard and Poor's twenty-nine "academic out-performing" school districts in the state, giving new meaning to the El Segundo High School motto: "Enter To Learn, Go Forth for Service."
At El Segundo High School, when an emergency occurs, please know that our school is prepared to act quickly to ensure the safety of our students. Our teachers, staff, and students have instructions and procedures they follow so that they are safe. For example, in case of an earthquake, students and teachers drop, cover, and hold.
What is a Graduate Profile? A graduate profile is a document that a school district develops with input from local stakeholders to specify the cognitive, personal, and interpersonal competencies that students should possess when they graduate from high school. A graduate profile outlines the necessary foundation for students' future success in college and career.
Within the first two weeks of your upcoming course (honors or regular) offered at the high school, you will be assessed on the prerequisite skills outlined in this packet. The packet will not be graded; however you are responsible for the material. Please note the assessment will count as a full test grade in your first semester grade.
The authors explain college applications, what admission counselors look for, how to prepare for the new tests, how to put together an application package, early admissions, and financial aid. Sample application forms and recommendation letters are included. All students enrolled in English 9-12 CP need to sign up through either the El Segundo Public Library or their local public library and complete the Public Library Summer Reading program.

Designed and built by the same architect as UCLA, El Segundo High School boasts amazing programs and staff. It is worth it to explore the school and its offerings in more detail, but if you're driving through main, park, and walk along the sidewalk and marvel at an architectural landmark masterpiece!

I attended this high school for one year, and it was sheer misery. First, that year, they were always filming a movie there, right in the hallway. Good luck staggering over all the cables trying to get to class. The math classes were in Mr McNaughton's class waaaay over on the east wing. What were they doing all the way on the other side of the football field?
Miss Petty was a mean, old (69 when I was there), cranky, hateful, spiteful, embittered, rotten old woman. She picked on students, made cracks at the overweight kids, and picked on one 13 year old girl (Kirsten) so badly for biting her nails

Amazing fields to play sports on. You can truly see the difference it makes when the funds that are supposed to be applied to an academic/athletic program are properly allocated.

We came here for a soccer tournament and were very impressed by the care and maintenance of the facility. Artificial turf was fresh looking and easy to play on. The grounds were clean and plenty of facilities available for use.

Parking available in and around residential community.

My daughter will be a senior this coming fall and she has had a fantastic experince thus far. The teachers are excellant and she is geting a great education. Over 125 universities have sent her letter requesting her to consider applying to their school; including all eight Ivy League schools.
As a parent, there is a great feeling knowing she will be safe at school and that she is going to school with a good group of kids. Words of advice, if you are on a permit, you best make sure your kid maintains a good GPA and is follows the rules; because if they don't ESUSD has no problem yanking your permit
