I was recommended this place by my sister who goes regularly and I was NOT disappointed! I must say that out of the local 757 Jamaican/ Caribbean spots this has been my favorite. I got the curry chicken Rasta pasta and I thought the seasoning of the chicken balanced the flavor of the pasta. The plantain were sweet. My mom got an oxtail & curry chicken combo with cabbage, rice and peas. She loved all of her food. I tasted her rice and peas and loved it too. The best thing I had was the coco bread my sister ordered. I kept trading her plantains for pieces of her bread lol. The woman who served

I bought the oxtails and it was like eating cubed steak. This is the worst Caribbean food I’ve had. The rice is full of bell peppers so that’s all you taste. For 26 dollars I got a bed of rice and rock hard oxtails. The best thing was the sprite. I will never eat here again. I didn’t even wanna give them the one star.

The food tasted great except for the Mac and cheese doesn't taste like anything. Seasoning on the meat was good doesn't taste like Caribbean or Latin food, but more of a soul food taste. If you are into Caribbean or Latin food like I am this is the best your going to get in the Hampton Road area. Trust me I have been searching since I left Florida.

Visited this restaurant twice and was absolutely blown away by the food. The food was a little pricey but worth every cent. The portions are also very large and can serve for two meals. I had the oxtail which was divine and feel right off the bone. The curried goat was also excellent. I also tasted the stew chicken which was decent but not my favourite. I recommend the rasta pasta which is better than any pasta you'll ever taste in Chesapeake. There is a little wait time so order ahead.

I must say, I did not know what to expect when I was invited to a birthday party at this location.
The address (street name) sounded so familiar when I received an invitation to party here. You know this used to be Maymar Restaurant. I had no idea MayMar had left the building... when I don't know. But Jam Cafe are the new owners of this space.
I attended a birthday party here last Saturday night.
We arrived about 9:15 pm. A few people were standing outside, not sure why, but others were pulling up and walking inside. They seemed to be partygoers like us.
I remembered how MayMar was

I am so glad we found this place while we were in the area. When you first walk in, you would think it was some sort of bar, but they take food orders. All of the food was flavorful! I recommend anyone passing through to try this place if they are interested in carribean food. Pictured below: peppered shrimp (SUPER SPICY, but so good!) - salmon rasta pasta - ox tail rasta pasta - veggie rasta pasta.

This place is a no for me. This location has only been here for a month as I had been seeing it being built because I get my nails done in the same shopping center. I couldn't wait to try it out because I love Jamaican food. I was not impressed. Food was very bland and rather expensive compared to other Caribbean spots. The menu read that the oxtails were $13.99 but the price had went up to $14.99. Oxtails were very fatty. Cabbage was bland. Mac & Cheese was just ok. Probably won't be returning.

Came here last night with my mom for a mother's day Paint and Vibe. It was our first time doing a paint night and we had fun. They had a couple of vendors there, played good music and gave us drinks that came with the ticket. The hostess said she'd work something out with the third ticket i bought but couldn't use, and I WON two more tickets for having one of the best paintings!
Far as the restaurant itself I've been here a few times and their food is decent but the food menu is a little small and they have no drink menu.
