An experienced, caring hospital with a staff that strives to know both you and your 'best friend' personally. Heartworm disease, heartworm tests, heartworm preventative - your animal's yearly wellness exam always has some mention of heartworms. But what are they and why should you be concerned? While there can be any number of causes for this, in a middle-aged or older cat an overactive thyroid is always one of the potential reasons atop our list.
Services
The clinic was established in 1991 by Dr. Michelle DeHaven and has grown into a four doctor practice. All doctors here at CAC have extensive experience in medicine and surgery for dogs and cats. Cumberland Animal Clinic is conveniently located at the corner of Spring Road and Village Parkway in Smyrna, Georgia.
Cumberland Animal Clinic is a full-service animal hospital staffed by skilled, experienced and dedicated veterinarians and pet care professionals. Beyond our comprehensive wellness care, we offer a full range of services including spay and neuter, surgical procedures, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, dental cleaning, geriatric care and more.
Spaying or neutering can help pets live a happier, healthier, longer life. The surgical procedure of spaying (ovariohysterectomy) a female pet or neutering (castration) of a male pet by a veterinarian renders the animal incapable of reproducing. Both procedures can be safely performed at our recommended 4 to 6 months of age.
Our staff is highly skilled in performing veterinary surgeries and will make every effort to ensure that your pet receives the very best care. Our focus on patient safety, pain management, and employing the most current surgical practices is designed to exceed your expectations and put your concerns to rest.
Humans are lucky when it comes to their healthcare as we can use our language skills to explain the symptoms we are experiencing. But unfortunately your pets cannot. That is why at Cumberland Animal Clinic we use the latest in diagnostic services. Our clinic is equipped with an advanced in-house laboratory that provides immediate results for our patients.

Cumberland Animal Clinic arguably has some of the lowest prices around for vet visits. The staff is always friendly and tentative. Whenever I need to make an appointment, I don't have to wait on hold and also get an appointment within the next few days at most. The staff seems to really enjoy what they do and they are always patient with my dog. I had to put my cat down and chose to come here since this is where I take my dog, and it was as best of an experience I could ask for, given the circumstances... They covered the windows on the door to make sure no one would bother us, they had warm blankets

My dog was recently diagnosed with pneumonia and the office has been wonderful with getting me scheduled, answering my questions, and reviewing test results. Dr. Griff and staff helped me urgently get my dog the care he needed. I also received a call a day following my visit to check in on my dog's state.
These sweet and warm touches have made me bump this review up to a 4. They do have good customer service and are thoughtful and it's those little touches that make the difference when you are dealing with a pet health crisis.
I'm also happy to report that male vet I had issues with

Generally speaking this is a good veterinarian office. I’ve come here for my pet for the last 10 years. They’ve always been able to get me in at times that are convenient.
I’d like to suggest as patrons you ask for itemized lists before they begin examining your animal. They like to talk quickly and hypothetically about what your animal may need without the same level of transparency about how much it will cost or when you’ll get your results. I’ve had to call them for results before. They say, “we’ll call you if there are any issues.” I think I should be provided with documentation

Took my oldest baby girl to CAC on 10/8/21 as this was her first visit. She was diagnosed with diabetes. Naturally, I was very distraught by hearing such news but Dr. Ramos and all the staff at CAC was very attentive to what I was going through. They were extremely busy that Friday but the service did not lack in any way what so ever. I felt secured and confident my baby girl and myself were in good hands. I'm very grateful I brought my cat into CAC to be seen by such a loving staff. Thank you for all your help.

We were referred to Cumberland Animal Clinic. Dr. Ramos was very knowledgeable and immediately set us up to come in the next day, Saturday. She made sure Dr. Griff knew what was going on with our baby. We were very nervous for our pet, Tetsuo. Dr. Griff called me after we dropped him off to let us know what was going on with him. Also, the young lady (I think Roxy) at the front desk and the young man who was the tech there (Jonathan?) were both amazing, kind and sympathetic. All around top notch service that made us feel calm and comfortable with leaving our baby in their care. It was our first

This is a friendly and well managed clinic. I've been taking my hound dog here for years. What I like is how the Vets don't try to sell you a whole grocery list of unnecessary things and treatments just to make an extra buck. If they can tell you where to get something cheaper, they will. Every ailment my dog has had they've been able to cure. They care a lot about your pet and you as the customer. Don't depend on walk-in's in my experience, they are very busy but can usually see you within a week. It's not a drawback, just a testament to the job they do so well because so many people trust them

There was a mix up and my appointment wasn’t scheduled but the staff were so accommodating and squeezed me into their schedule. It was my kittens first time ever going to a vet and she was very nervous but Dr. Bailey was so sweet to her and gave her lots of treats. It was a great experience and I definitely trust them for future visits.
