Built in 1859, in the heart of bustling Virginia City, the Hotel served as an oasis for visitors-including a young Samuel Clemens before he became Mark Twain. We have been staying at the Tahoe House for years, recently the upgrades made by Paul and Bri make it even more amazing with the comfortable mattresses, high thread count linens (yes it matters), fresh flower arrangements throughout the Hotel, beautiful antiques, on-site bar with speciality drinks, and so much more. You really have to experience the Tahoe House and relive a fascinating time in history staying at this historic hotel.

This place is great. Tall ceilings, old doors and windows. Bed was comfortable. Everything is super clean. The balcony is right over the main street. They have parking spaces right out the door on the back street. There are wild horses in the area . Won't see that every where. Try the old fashioned at the bar.

Why would anyone stay anywhere else? We showed up in the afternoon with the intent of only staying one day. One day turned into 4 days because of the warm hospitality of the owners. We spent the entire first day visiting with them. They are both so much fun and so interesting!!! They go above and beyond with their hospitality!We will never forget them. The Tahoe House has started what I've now decided is a love affair with Virginia City. (Sorry, not sorry, Vegas!) This hotel was beyond what we could have wanted and I actually loved the fact that we got snowed in one morning due to only having a Ford Fusion and it not being safe to drive on the hills with it. We stayed two days and I could have easily done another 3+ because the hotel felt so cozy and inviting everywhere. Paul, the owner, was extremely kind and accommodating, and we talked with him a ton, getting some history of the town and the area. I didn't anticipate liking the town

I stayed here for my one year wedding anniversary and I sure did learn my lesson. We stayed here in the summer and I believe none of the rooms had AC. We were miserable and could barely sleep because it was so hot in our room. The other people staying there were there for a wedding. The room full of people made it sound as if they were pounding on the wall splitting our rooms. They were screaming and acted as if they were the only ones in the hotel. We finally had enough and tried for two hours to leave the hotel but could not find the lady to check out. We even walked up and down the main walk

What a wonderful find! We absolutely loved our quick little stay at the Tahoe House this weekend. We were warmly greeted by Brianna who checked us into the hotel and escorted us to our weekend stay in the charming "Rosie's Room". Staying here was by far one of the highlights of our travels. Everything was just beautiful. It was spotless clean. Enchanting and the stories and history it holds are just fascinating. The hospitality was spot on with service. We enjoyed very much listening to the Hotel keeper tell the stories of the past. Is it haunted? What a great find! We arrived late, and Paul still made us feel so welcomed! He even hauled my over packed suitcase up the stairs for me. He and Brianna took great care of us. They knew us by name, helped us with dinner plans, and were so kind. Outstanding. Wonderful place to rest your head while visiting Virginia City. The owners were great and friendly. They also were helpful letting me know what was open in town for a late dinner. We had a family birthday gathering for my sister. It was just such an amazing weekend with PAUL and Brianna the owners taking such great care of us. We had a dinner in their scenic / cool backyard. There's something about that backyard that creates this great low temperature in the evening.

Phenomenal service. Very clean, comfortable, historic atmosphere. Parking was a little limited, but overall not a problem. They offered a complimentary beverage and a wonderful assortment of breakfast foods in the morning. The balcony in out room overlooked historic C Street and was really pleasant to relax on. This hotel has exceptional service. Paul and Brianna made our son's wedding perfect. Paul helped with getting the caterer and was there to answer any questions. The rooms are lovely and there is a complementary welcome drink. The wedding was in their cute little courtyard which they set up for us. They decorated the tables and the next morning there was a continental breakfast. We will stay there again in this gem of a place.

From the moment I called to make reservations to the time we checked out after our 3rd night, we were in great hands and well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Paul took great care of us and I'm very impressed/pleased with the upkeep of the hotel with such limited staff.

Absolutely outstanding B&B, perfect location in the heart of historic downtown Virginia City. The owners, Paul & Brianna went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time. Wish I could give them 100 stars! What a magical place full of history in our favorite town!! Paul was wonderful to work with while planning our wedding, he even helped us to find a place for dinner and a photographer. The day of the wedding they took amazing care of anything we needed. Jill went as far as to bring us mimosas to the carriage house while I was getting ready. It was like she knew a cocktail was what I needed! I accidentally stumbled onto this Inn and had to stay. The Mark Twain Study was available and in my opinion the best room in the place. Private balcony, cute antiques, cozy atmosphere and some extra touches. I had the greatest sleep too. The owner made me a phenomenal Moscow mule and told me a little bit of Virgina City History. We stay there this weekend in the cottage. It's a nice little cottage has everything you need especially the kitchen. Nice little hotel. The owners have been there for two months and they were fabulous. If I ever go to Virginia City again this is definitely where I stay. I thing I would suggest is a bigger TV but I'm sure that'll be in the works soon.

Going back in time in Victorian luxury. This was a wonderful stay. A nice get away with the perfect mix of modern amenities and the feel of a Victorian Inn. It's to be expected to hear the noise of the town with the way the old architecture was built 100+years ago but our evening was a quiet local feel.
