I loved this building and Jason, the on-site building manager. Great location and recent remodel that doesn't ring true to the original beauty of the building but glad they had updated the place.

Nicely refreshed, sturdy building, friendly neighbors, helpful on-site manager, tree-lined street, walkable neighborhood, great city and Rainier views from modest rooftop deck.

Correction. New plumbing in the building has been already installed. Plumbing issues mentioned in previous reviews have already been addressed successfully.

Lived/rented here about a year and a half ago, right when all of the plumbing issues started. My unit on the 10th floor had to have my entire kitchen ripped out (fixtures, floor, walls) while the building management took their time organizing and carrying out the repair. I was in a hotel (thankfully covered by renters insurance) for almost two months before I decided enough was enough and called the city code department. Luckily I got my security deposit back from my landlord but was ready to break my lease on the grounds of not having major plumbing fixtures repaired within a reasonable time.

Location, location, location. Yes the Decatur has been going through some major renovations, but I do feel sorry for folks who don't see the long term vision for this building. (see my first remark again). If you enjoy mid century buildings with all new plumbing, HVAC, getting cable upgrades, and more then take a risk on it and invest. (oh and next up new elevators that we already paid for) If there are enough good owners doing what it takes to be a great place, then it will be awesome. Of course the fire was unfortunate, it happened right next door to me. But it could happen in any building

Someone upstairs was having a problem with their plumbing/shower and so now every time I come to see my dad there is no shower just because of someone upstairs. It has been this way for more than two months now and we’re thinking of moving to the Cyrene😤

This place is a gem. Beautiful building with friendly folks living there. It wasn't ideal for about a year during a big construction project but now that it's done the place is great. New plumbing, new HVAC system, new secure mail room, tons of insolation between floors so you never hear your upstairs/downstairs neighbors. I think they're having super high-speed internet put in and new elevators. Great updates and love living here.

Massive plumbing project going on at present. It will be for at least for another one year. Stay away from this place. I lived in stack 12 on one of the top three floors. We didn’t have access to kitchen water for 6 weeks 24x7 except the weekends. Owner was discriminating. Had to give a legal notice to exercise my rights.
Update on this: we got charged for all the maintenance request which they are supposed to take care of when we moved out. Those requests were sitting around for a while. They didn't fix it until we moved out and we get charged for that? What the hell? Don't move here. Owners

Awful building, very old!
There is a never ending plumbing project, that has being ongoing for more than a year! It constantly disrupts water flow constantly and can get you days without water during the day. Not recommended at all...

This building is an absolute hellhole. Everything is falling apart, the management company is staffed by morons who couldn't possibly give less of a hoot, there is zero noise insulation, smoke travels between units as if there were no walls, the elevators break constantly, the front awning is infested by bugs, there have been fires and floods in the short time I've lived here--it's biblical! ...I could go on forever. The garbage chute gets backed up on a daily basis and makes the whole building smell like vomit. Laundry machines in the hallway are free but broken more often than

I've lived here for five years. This place is going down hill fast! Massive renovations = multiple floods, fires. Workmen are pigs. The work has been "finished" in my condo for over 6 months, but they still come and go whenever they want, without notice. They leave messes in my apartment. Water is shut off frequently and randomly. Fat, lazy workmen take elevators up one floor, block elevators, draw all over the walls in the hallway. Everything is a mess with construction dust and equipment everywhere. My apartment has only been flooded one time (which is the least of anyone I know

The Decatur is now a condo complex after being converted and currently selling refurbished units. The building was designed by the same architect that designed the Space Needle and on the Spring Street side of the building you can see the top of the space needle from about the 8th floor and up.

There is a roof top deck and grill for cooking dinner and nice city views. There are free laundry facilities on each floor as well as another larger one downstairs and after all the units there will be 24 hr concierge. The only thing I would say negative is that sometimes the trash chutes smell up various
