Mindfulness Counseling
The health and safety of our clients is our first priority. We are accepting new clients and will accommodate those who would like to be seen in person with the proper safety measures. Are you ready to take the first step to a new you? Start off on a positive path and become empowered to grow and become more confident.

Mindfulness Counseling was built on the tenets to support, teach, and promote your overall well-being. Promote a healthy self-worth and awareness with emotional support from our experienced therapists. You will learn techniques for non-judgmental exploration and discovery that will help you rid your life of unhealthy behavior.
Services
Set in the heart of downtown Lakewood, our office is located in the Detroit Cook Medical and Arts Building, home of Rozi's Wine House and the Lakewood Observer. At this location, we have five established therapists who are open to accepting new clients. Kelly A. Morgan LPCC-S, the executive director of Mindfulness, specializes in treating anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and couple's counseling using mindfulness-based approaches.
Working with stress in therapy, we get underneath the surface symptoms. We learn how to work with the causes of stress, and we learn practical ways to deal with it. We introduce research-based techniques for lowering stress levels, such as mindfulness exercises. Allowed them to relax more at work, helped them to be more present, and to be able to communicate in a calmer way.
Does your child need to explore various emotions that may be difficult to express in traditional counseling? Our approach at Mindfulness-Counseling goes beyond crafting and coloring books. We strive to use art as a modality to get to a deeper sense of self. Some of the therapeutic themes that are explored include self-care, copings skills, building self-esteem and reducing stress and anxiety.
Our approach at Mindfulness-Counseling couples goes beyond just teaching healthy communication tools. If it were that easy, relationships wouldn't be so difficult. Relationships take effort. Why? Simply put, because people are complex. You are made up of all your experiences and so is your partner.
Working together in anxiety therapy, we get underneath the surface symptoms. We learn how to work with the symptoms, and we learn practical, research-based ways to relax. Our clients at Mindfulness-Counseling vary from mildly anxious to severely anxious, and some have suffered from chronic anxiety attacks.

We are all grounded by the roots of our past, some good, some not. I am forever grateful to the team at Mindfulness Counseling. My journey to Mindfulness Counseling started about a year ago. I am supported by Jen Dudich LISW-S and Kelly Morgan LPCC-S. Making the decision to seek counseling is never an easy one. By taking the first step, I began a process to understand my worthiness and to invest in myself. My commitment to my personal growth is continuously reinforced every two weeks when I walk in the door to my "Safe Place" at Mindfulness Counseling. Jen, Kelly and the rest of the team, thank

Patrick Santilli came into our lives at the perfect time. He has been a godsend in helping my sons navigate divorce & teenage years, which is quite a plateful! He has provided them with strategies, a sounding board, & a safe place to talk about their feelings. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services & appreciate that my boys have a positive male role model to help guide them through this difficult transition.

I have been coming here for almost a year. I can't even begin to write about how much I have changed, on my own, with an amazing therapist's guide. This is a ZERO judgement zone, it is a SAFE place to talk, and it is HELPFUL. I was never told "I should be this" or "I can't believe you felt like this" . I have been challenged on WHY I might think or feel a certain way but in a non-threatening atmosphere. I feel like I know myself better than I ever have and I am not stopping. There is so much work I want to do!

I am grateful to Kelly and her practice for the unique approach they take to strengthen my mental and emotional health. I have been a client of hers for three (3) years and cannot say enough about how her practice has led to me living a more present and happier life, benefiting not only me, but everyone I encounter at home and work.

Kelly is the perfect counselor for someone who doesn't feel comfortable needing to see a counselor. She is fair, honest, encouraging, supportive, nurturing - she tells it like it is. For me, telling it like it is has meant the truth where it hurt or the truth where it brought relief - but either way, the truth. She is great at identifying it and relaying it. She has become a friend as well as a resource. I highly recommend her and anyone on her team.
