A: All of our high powered USB headlights (300+ lumens) are shipped in lock mode to prevent them from turning on during shipping. In this mode, when you press the button you will just see a flicker of blue beneath the button. To get out of lock mode you must press and hold the button down for 6 seconds (longer than you'd think!).

Have had wireless Protege for years, always worked great. Got an new road bike, shopped for other odometer options, came back to the Planet Bike wireless Protege. Love all the info available without switching screens. The thermometer is really accurate considering where it is. Just read the installation instructions carefully for placing the sensor and it works great. NO problems. Set up as easy as any other device, easier than some. Had a customer service question regarding an extra part and they were very prompt and offer great service. Great to work with.

I've exclusively used Planet Bike headlights for the past 4-5 years for daily commuting. They have never come loose, no matter how hard the bumps. They're easy to aim while pedaling, so I can shine brightly in road traffic, but not blind other bikers/peds when I'm on the paths. And the on/off button is big and tactile, making it easy to work with gloves
As for Planet Bike as a company -- when my Blaze 2W headlight became flaky after 2 years, PB honored the lifetime warranty with no fuss. They even offered to ship a replacement with nothing more than an emailed photo of the flaky headlight.
