I've lived in Denver for 20+ years and for a several years, in the Mayfair neighborhood. I always considered the Jersey Street shopping area to be a hidden gem, including the Sweet Rice Cafe that provided truly delicious Asian food options. After we moved to Central Park (Stapleton), we continued to treat ourselves to ordering from Sweet Rice. The previous (original?) owners delivered and we loved their food for several more years. Then, as I understand it, ownership changed hands. Perhaps my first indication that I may have a problem occurred when the new owner balked at delivering to

A much beloved hole in wall neighborhood favorite, this has been my family's go to order in spot since I was a toddler. I live out of state now but still make a point to grab food from here once whenever I am home. The orange beef, honey walnut prawns, egg drop soup, and sesame scallops are some of our favorite picks.

This place is legit. We got dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, salt and pepper shrimp, and Ginger chicken. Everything was delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp is the best I’ve had in the city. The dumplings had so much flavor from the soy sauce mixture, very unique and worth the order. Also, do not sleep on the Dan Dan noodles, noodles were perfectly chewy. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. I’ll be back often.

I really wanted to like this place. The sauteed beef and pan fried dumplings were good but they messed up the general tso's chicken. Which is the cornerstone of any american chinese food place. Who in the kitchen allowed them to take such liberty with this dish? Its suppose to be sweet and and its not at all. Instead it tastes like someone poured a bottle of oyster sauce over it. Also too breaded and not enough chicken.

I loved both dishes I tried this evening, the Teriyaki Chicken definitely stands out from other restaurants. What I loved best was they had the sauce on the side without even asking. The Combination rice definitely something I'll continue to get in the future. I love that I moved so close to this restaurant!

Once a gem for the Mayfair neighborhood. The food had been outstanding but has declined with the new owners.
Service is deplorable. Told to pick up order in 20 minutes turns into 30. Told to pick in 30 told to come back in another 20. Unfortunate for those of us that were accustomed to the fine food and service of the old Sweet Rice.

Sweet Rice Café has been a neighborhood gem for ages. While restaurants come and go in this little strip on Jersey, Sweet Rice abides. Quality ingredients, tasty recipes, quick service, and fair prices beckon any time I'm in the mood for Chinese take out.
Last night was a lo mein kind of night. In a moment of apostasy, I called a nearby competitor, just north on Krameria whose food is equally tasty. 45 minutes' wait for pickup, $25 for one order of beef & one of chicken lo mein. No, thanks.
Sweet Rice had our noodles ready in 25 minutes for $19.86. As usual, both were cooked

Sweet Rice Cafe never disappoints! Fried rice, lo mein and sesame chicken have all been excellent every time. I recently ordered the pad Thai and I have to say, it is my favorite pad Thai that I've found in Denver so far. Such a reasonable price for a pretty large portion and SO flavorful. Support small business and order takeout from Sweet Rice Cafe. You won't regret it!

Sweet Rice Cafe is a top notch Asian spot for quick and easy takeout. We live a few blocks away, so it has become an easy backup for those nights when we don't want to cook.
I'm a huge fan of the curries and my hubs usually goes for the drunken noodle. You also get free egg rolls added on if your order is over 20 bucks (I think). We have tried the sweet and sour chicken (just okay) and beef with broccoli (a winner), but our go tos remain the curry and noodles.
The staff is friendly and fast. Don't expect to go in and sit down as it's strictly a delivery or carry out option

First off let's start by saying this place is fast it only took about 15 to 20 minutes to get our order and it was hot. I ordered the shrimp pad thai it was yummy. The crispy egg rolls for dollar twenty-five a piece were also . And this place is portions are no joke I have enough pad thai noodles for at least 2 days. And I must say I even like the little hot and sour packets for the egg rolls definitely going to be ordering many other items off their menu in the future.. it's about 35 bucks to feed two people I guess that's not bad for delivery convenience dining.. so all in all

I used to love this restaurant. I went in at 11:30am for lunch and was greeted by a filthy interior!! The counter looks like it hasn't been wiped in years! The floor was dirty (clearly not cleaned at night). The man taking my order was impatient, rude and did not make me feel comfortable.
When I left I was nervous to actually eat the food. The cashew chicken was the fattest chicken I've ever had. So gross. Probably never going back :( what a shame.

Over a year later, I'm still ordering from Sweet Rice. This is definitely Americanized Chinese food, but it's pretty good. There are certain dishes that I've found to be particularly good and order regularly on a rotational basis. These include:
- Ginger Chicken
- Exploding Onion Beef
- Hot-n-Sour Soup
- War Wonton Soup
- Jungle Curry Chicken
- Assorted Vegetables
- Vegetables with Tofu
- Hunan Beef
- Kung Pao Triple Delight, etc.
I've found the meat dishes to contain a generous amount of meat. Seafood dishes, not so much. Most of the noodle dishes I've tried are
