The Saturday Center for Psychotherapy has been serving the mental health needs of the community for over 30 years. Founded by Drs. Judith Davenport, Judith Sherven, and Judith Swerling, The Saturday Center filled a need in the mental health community of not only providing quality psychotherapy to persons of modest means, but also to provide advanced training that focused on the therapist as an instrument of change.
They wanted new therapists to understand that quality work involves both thinking and feeling. The Saturday Center remains committed to offering dynamic psychotherapy based on need rather than economics. We treat the whole person with a goal of health and wholeness, rather than simply focusing on eliminating symptoms and cutting costs.

Services
D. provides individual, couples, and family psychotherapy as well as supervision and consultation in Santa Monica. He is a Clinical Supervisor and also leads the Process Group. He was adjunct faculty at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University for over 20 years.
The Saturday Center offers therapy in a beautiful private practice setting in Santa Monica, on the West Side of Los Angeles. Our warm setting offers a safe place to begin your healing process in a secure relationship with quality psychotherapy. To make this service more affordable to people in the community, we offer a sliding scale fee based on financial needs.
The standard fee for therapy at The Saturday Center is $150 per hour. However, we do provide a sliding scale that is based on need and proof of income. If you choose to use Insurance, we are considered "out of network" providers. This means you would pay for therapy upfront and then be provided with a Superbill so your Insurance company could reimburse you.
The Saturday Center for Psychotherapy is proud to offer a challenging internship and training program for MFT Associates, Psychological interns and postgraduate psychologists (PsyD, PhD). Our psychology training program is highly selective but serves as an exciting opportunity for personal and professional growth that many students find to be richly rewarding.
The Saturday Center for Psychotherapy was founded in 1981 by Judith Davenport, Ph. D., Judith Swerling, Ph. D., and Judith Sherwin, Ph. D. who were dedicated to the idea of providing quality-training as well as giving back to the community that had supported them. The Center is thus both a training program for advanced students in psychology and a low-fee clinic operating within a private practice model.

The Saturday Center delivers an amazing training program. As a budding therapist, I have gained tools and insight that are setting me up for a fulfilling career. The supervision is outstanding and supportive. As a result, I'm able to connect with my clients in a deeper way that allows us to really get into the therapeutic work.

As a training site for therapists, The Saturday Center provided me with phenomenal guidance when I worked there as a doctoral intern. I gained invaluable psychodynamic training on how to help clients process their pain and guide them in exploring parts of their awareness that is so essential to their healing. I can confidently say that the training I received here has made me a much more knowledgeable, empathic, and effective psychologist and a more aware and attuned human being in my personal relationships. I highly recommend this site to any mental health professional who wants more in-depth

I had an initial interview with a therapist here and was really looking forward to beginning treatment. I like that they say they go deeper into the root cause of issues rather than just dealing with problems on a surface level. I was approved for the lowest sliding scale so I was so glad I found therapy I could actually afford. Out of nowhere, the therapist calls me back and tells me they are "not suited to deal with the type of issues I am struggling with." She was unable to actually explain why. Clearly they are not actually interested in accepting clients that qualify for their

Worst service ever here. Me and my boyfriend decided to try out relationship therepy because we needed better communication and learn how to trust and get along better. So i wont say names because i believe its rude but one of the interns here was working with us for about a month. And basically just took our money and told us we couldn't go back here because she felt that our relationship was "unfixable". I thought couple therepy was about people repairing relationships. Not being gouged for cash. Don't ever go here they will take ur money. Unless u want to spend ur money and

I would like to review this place, but cannot because this is Friday, late afternoon, and I have not had a call-back to my original call to them of last Tuesday. When I did not hear back late Wednesday, I called again and left a message. Nothing. Called again last night (Thursday), and again left a message. Each time was with the Answering Service, who assured me they would see to it I would get a call back within 24 hours. Hasn't happened. I left one more message with the Answering Service just now, and if I don't get a call back within 24 hours, I am blowing them off. Completely unprofessional

I was referred here by a friend who had a great experience, and I have to say after almost a year, I can only say that my experience was great as well. As another review mentioned, you work with a therapist while they are being certified, and I liked my therapist so much that I'm following her to her practice. The fact that the services are offered on a sliding scale removes so much stress from the process, and I can't imagine finding better people or facilities at an affordable rate. I left a message on a Tuesday and had my call returned on Wednesday afternoon. My consultation was set

Simple stated. Place is great. You get a top notch therapy center for community pricing.
I found a therapist at Saturday Center after having stagnated with my first & only therapist of two years. Working with JS was not always easy, but the therapy I received there was greatly life changing. There were times which made me emotional, others which helped me tackle difficult issues in my life. Yet it always made me want to improve and grow.
Highly recommend SC for those seeking more out of therapy or are thinking about experiencing therapy for the first time. Big plus is that you can continue

I went through a huge loss this year and my intern Ramtin Neydawood has been very helpful and insightful in helping to process in a healthy way.
The sessions are on a sliding scale based on your annual income. You are working with a supervised intern, and they work with that supervisor to provide you with insight and direction.
