Our team provides understanding and hope for those suffering by a mental health condition. Each of our services is specifically catered to each patient's individual needs and concerns. We are here for you. Our doctors have hospital privileges here in Houston. Dr. Barber attends SUN Behavioral Hospital and Dr. Chen is the Chief Medical Officer at Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital.

Dr. Frank Chen is now offering guidance sessions to help your family deal with a loved one diagnosed with Bipolar or Schizophrenia. Our office strives to provide accessible and high quality care from every angle. Our patients receive the highest level of care from our board-certified psychiatric providers.
Services
All of our Psychiatrists are board-certified and all of our Nurse Practitioners are certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. Our providers have at least 10 years if not 20 or more years in practice. While we primarily focus on medication management, our providers work closely with primary care physicians and psychotherapists to ensure well-coordinated care.
Our practice prides itself in providing high-quality care with a comprehensive approach. If you or a family member have been struggling with mental illness and not living up to your potential, we may be able to help. Our providers focus on adult psychiatric care from patients only 18 to 69 years of age.
Our doctors have privileges at two psychiatric hospitals here in Houston. Dr. Michael Barber has hospital privileges at SUN Behavioral Hospital & Dr. Frank Chen is the Chief Medical Officer at Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. These hospitals provide Mental health and Substance abuse treatment.
Having a family member with newly diagnosed Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia can be confusing and exhausting. Not only are you trying to figure out treatment options for your loved ones with the diagnosis, but you are also trying to protect them from impulsive behaviors that may potentially be risky and scary.
In order to avoid a no show fee of $50.00, appointments need to be canceled 24 hours prior to your appointment time. We make every attempt to notify our patients of their appointment through the contact information we have on file. Our reminder system sends out an email, a text, and a phone call depending on the information you have given us.

I have been working with Julie Dang for about 2 years now, She is wonderful and together with the staff, they have truly been life changing. While it is always scary taking the first step towards Mental Health, Julie has made me felt like a safe, healthy and caring space is always provided for her clients. Help yourself and take the first step, highly Houston Adult Psychiatry and Julie Dang!

I have had a very positive experience at Houston Adult Psychiatry, working with Julie Dang. The front office staff has been easy to work with, and do a good job sending appointment reminders.

I saw Britney P. NP. This was my first time seeking help for anxiety/depression outside of my primary care provider and I could not have asked for a better experience. She was very knowledgeable and was willing to explain the different treatment options with me with all the pros and cons.

When you go to a place like this you think of comfort, kindness, and someone who understands your mental state?! Not sure if it do to COVID or personal issues, or maybe it’s my luck in talking to the wrong person. But my impression on the ladies that I’ve spoke with have been rude, impatient, unprofessional, unorganized, uncommunicative. Here’s a suggestion just quit if your job is becoming to much for you or you don’t have a sense of feel for it. My last couple of visits the energy has been negative and rushed

When Hanh was still in the office I had the best experience. I was transferred to Julie and felt ignored in the very first appt. This could've been an overreaction but considering I had to say the same thing three times before she listened, there were several things that went completely unaddressed, and I have a friend who was seeing her who had the same problem, I don't think it was. No problem, I just asked to see someone else for my next appointment
and that was a super easy process. Scheduled my next appointment for my lunch break. 20 minutes into what should've been my appointment, no one

I am Dr. Chen's patient for well over 12 years and deal with Julie. I have left her 4 voice mails and she has yet to return my call. I have tried to get a hold of Dr.Chen, but I can't get to him for some reason. I would highly recommend you don't go to this office, especially if your going through any mental health issues!!!!

After being a patient for over a year Lenore Chen's staff refused to help me anymore. First it started with severe anxiety attacks daily even with the medication list I was prescribed. Abilify , Propanol, Buspar, Lexapro. I have been on these medications for over a year and never asked for me, if anything I asked to be taken off the original 8 I was prescribed. After calling the office seven times in four days the office manager Cassandra told me Lenore Instructed her to inform me to go to therapy and she would not help me with my constant anxiety attack , I should go to the ER for help.
