Convergence Insufficiency (CI) is a binocular vision disorder, meaning that both eyes do not work together to produce one clear, steady image - something that we take for granted when our eyes work properly. Convergence Insufficiency is defined as having a problem with the simultaneous turning inward of both eyes that occurs when viewing an approaching object or near target, such as print in a book.
The control of eye movements requires the highest degree of motor precision. In order to use the two eyes together as a team, the brain must coordinate the extraocular muscles perfectly if we are to see comfortably and efficiently. Accurate visual tracking allows us to quickly and effectively move our eyes along a line of print and move our eyes from one point in space to another.
Symptoms from 3D viewing can detect vision problems and open the door to successful treatment. Stereopsis is the sensation of depth attained from the successful merging of the two slightly different pictures seen in each eye into one 3-dimensional image. More simply put, in order to see in 3-D both eyes must be working together simultaneously as a coordinated team.
Vision problems involving eye movement and focus can often cause "ADD/ADHD like behaviors". Symptoms for ADD/ADHD and vision problems are often the same. It is critical to have a functional eye exam to determine whether or not vision problems are causing these symptoms of inattention.

It is very important to understand that if your child enjoys being read to, will sit and listen for long periods of time, but demonstrates attention problems when using eyes for reading, deskwork, or homework, there is an excellent chance that your child's attention problem is caused by an inability to use his/her eyes.
Vision therapy helps those with autism spectrum disorders more efficiently visually process and establish order from a world of disorder. Vision Therapy can be very helpful in treating the visual dysfunctions that occur for many children and adults with Autism, Asperger's, Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) and other spectrum disorders.

Vague with pricing.
I requested the most simple possible exam, which would be covered by my vision plan.
Without it being made clear to me, a $60 "contact lens fitting fee" was added to my visit.
So what should have left me with a $10 simple visual exam copay ended up being a $70 visit. Avoid this clinic!!
