Masters of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics, The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Thesis: Investigation of Lateral Incisor Crown Root Angulation and Impacted Maxillary Canines. Dr. Sam Purnell grew up outside of Columbia in Ballentine, South Carolina. He attended Chapin Elementary, Chapin Middle and Chapin High School before finishing his high school career at Ben Lippen School.
Orthodontic treatment straightens teeth but did you know it does so much more? Whether using braces or Invisalign, the goal of orthodontics is a beautiful smile, and equally important a healthy bite. You can look forward to the confidence treatment will provide. Dr. Purnell uses state of the art digital imaging and a thorough examination to tailor treatment for you.
Your first step towards the smile you want is a consultation! During your visit we want you to make yourself at home. After you take a tour of the office we will take a few photos of your bite and an x-ray if it is needed. After this we will see you every four to eight weeks. It is very important to make it to your appointments so we can make sure treatment goes just as planned!
Orthodontic treatment costs vary depending on the individual's needs. We will discuss these costs at your consultation and give you options to make treatment work with your budget. Absolutely the best dental practice I have visited. From entering to leaving it was exceptional. All of the staff is friendly, personable and professional. I have been visiting dentists for years and this was, by far, the best! My 13 year old was very hesitant about braces. Not anymore, thanks to Dr. Purnell and his staff. Wonderful experience. We chose Dr. Purnell out of the three places we got opinions and couldn't be happier with our experience. Several of our friends also see him and feel the same way.
