Services
In 2004, Dr. Jernigan fulfilled his lifelong goal of opening his own orthodontic practice. The practice is located near the Lake Carolina community in NE Columbia. Dr. Jernigan's vision for his practice is to have a warm, comfortable atmosphere and to be available to his patients for high quality care.
We have a warm, friendly and energetic staff. We pride ourselves on completing numerous continuing education hours each year to stay on the cutting edge of new techniques in the field of orthodontics. In my spare time, I have fun spending time with my family, reading books, and going to North Myrtle Beach.
There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers, and each contract provides a different benefit. However, orthodontic insurance generally differs from regular dental insurance in that each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic services.
Many appointments can be seen after school hours. However, all appointments cannot be seen after school. The placement or removal of braces, the placement of additional appliances and the repair of broken appliances are always accomplished in during non-peak, school hours. If you are running late, we will try to accommodate our late arrivals.
The adhesive used for attaching the braces to your teeth cures rapidly initially, but takes 24-hours to completely cure. You can eat anytime after leaving our office. However, we ask that you be mindful of the suggested list of foods that may be harmful to the braces. Until you become accustomed to eating with your new braces, you may find it beneficial to follow a diet consisting of soft foods.

Truly one of the best experiences I've had at a doctor's office. Fast and thorough service. I usually don't leave reviews unless it was memorable. Dr. Jernigan is an amazing orthodontist! He has treated both of my children and is now treating me! He remembers you personally and even remembers specifics about my kids from 13 years ago! His staff is so friendly, kind and gentle. His office, well, you just need to see it! They go ALL OUT when it comes to decorating for the holidays!!! We have referred many many people to him over the last 13 years!

Reached out to this office after having a bad experience with the first office referred too. (Very popular Dr.). This office was a breath of fresh air.
We were treated as if my teenager was the only patient there. Staff was amazing and Dr. Took so much time with us explaining what needed to be done. Most importantly, discussing $ was not the first thing brought up, unlike the first practice. I can’t write a review without mentioning the decor. The Halloween decor was incredible. I’m told they go all out for the holidays. Can’t wait to see the theme for Christmas. Highly recommend this group

Wow! This office is absolutely amazing. Truly. Everyone is so friendly and you can tell they genuinely love to be there. The office is so chill and inviting. Dr. Jernigan makes you feel so comfortable and explains things in such detail that you feel very informed when you leave your consultation. He doesn't throw a bunch of medical jargon at you. My first appointment I got the pleasure of working with Courtney. She is so sweet and I hope to see her again during future visits.

Dr. J. has taken great care of my two sons. When they prepare for an appointment, they are not nervous or anxious. When my oldest got his braces off, voila! I moved to Lugoff recently and needed to find a new orthodontist for my 10 year old who is between treatment phases and needed help with her current retainer. Jernigan Ortho was very highly recommend by several mothers in the area. Due to Covid, their arrival procedures were different than a regular visit. I was told that ordinarily I'd have to wait in the car, and send my daughter in with a treatment specialist who would come greet me at my car after I alerted them via text that we'd arrived. I went in for a consultation for my daughter about her braces. I was blown away when I walked in. They had my daughters name posted on a board at the entrance welcoming her. They have an arcade for kids in the waiting room on one side and an adult waiting area on the other. Complimentary water, coffee, and chocolates make you feel so welcomed. The staff were all phenomenal!

Dr. Jernigan & his crew are by far the best team I have ever met. They have a state of the art facility but they have it designed to make the kids feel like they are at Fun Zone. My youngest (8) was terrified to get braces & they made her feel completely at ease. She can not wait to go back for her next appointment. All the different games hey play & fun photos they do with the kids makes the team members friends & not just orthodontist & nurses.
