Train with coach Spencer Steele in a legendary boxing gym serving the Venice area for 35 years. Fully equipped with professional 18-foot ring, the 3,000 sq foot facility has everything you need to take your training to the next level. Spencer Steele has over 12 years of experience as a boxing and kickboxing trainer and over 20 years of knowledge in the sport as a professionally licensed boxer.
Boxing (or kickboxing) is one of the most effective full-body workouts you can do. It is not uncommon to burn up to 1,000 calories in a one-hour training session. You can obtain the fighter physique while rapidly improving your endurance, strength, and overall fitness. If you can commit to at least two training sessions per week, you can expect to shed body fat and increase your energy levels.
Be sure to wear comfortable athletic clothing and shoes that you can move and sweat in. If you have your own gloves and hand wraps bring them along but we have these as well as boxing shoes available to borrow if you need them. I recommend bringing a towel and a bottle of water (we have bottles of water available if you forget).

Incredible classes with Spencer. Footwork, long range boxing, drills, ring strategy, combinations, and movement around the ring is more than enough for any cardio level that you’ve experienced - or any level you want to get to.
I was worried about contact and sparring when I first started, but Spencer gets you comfortable with a solid skill set of defense, and confidence in your striking, to where you want to be sparring all the time
Highly recommended, whether you’re an experienced boxer/striker, cross train for another sport, or if it’s your first time putting on the gloves!

Spencer Steele is the real deal. He is an awesome coach who brings vibrant energy to every session. While I always leave dripping in sweat and feeling like I have progressed, I also have a ton of fun doing it. The personalized approach you get from Spencer in a session is far superior to any group class setting and you will get much better, much sooner, as a result. If/ when your session overlaps with another person you will get the chance to move around with another student at a pace you're comfortable with- Whether that is sparring or more controlled sparring-like games/ drills. I've been working with Spencer now for over 6 months, usually going twice per week and I can tell you it's well worth it. If you're considering private training, you owe it to yourself to check this out. Prior to working with Spencer, I'd never taken a boxing class. I've learned so much and still have a lot to learn but I'm also getting in shape and because it's fun, the hour flies by. If you are looking for private boxing training on the westside you've come to the right place. I have been training with Spencer for a few months now and it is honestly one of the best workouts I have ever had. He is able to explain things to me clearly and effectively and every lesson feels like a real step forward towards achieving my goals.
