What I have found shopping and visiting Tackle and Field, over the past number of years has been that I appreciate the conversation, and advice much more than I thought when coming to a place like this. I have dealt mainly with Ken, Timmy, and Chris, and everytime I've been in the store they have been extremely helpful and courteous.
I prefer to shop local for outdoor sporting goods and it has its advantages dealing with a reputable business, that employees people who truly love the outdoors as much or more than their customers do.

Might have gone on an off day - my experiences did not match the many reviews below. Went in with my husband who is looking to get into fishing, and needed help getting set up with a pole and tackle set. His questions were shrugged off, and the employee just pointed around the store. We had been recommended to visit by a local who said we'd be able to get everything we need. I can see this shop would be great for an established customer, or an experienced hunter/fisherman, but as beginners, we didn't feel very welcome. Frank's once was one of those places in a state of disarray, but where you could find nearly anything. A few years ago I was able to find a prop for an electric motor I had owned for 25 years, that no way I'd find elsewhere. It took a half hour of digging through an unorganized bin filled with dozens of props, but I found it.
Unfortunately the new owner "cleaned" up the place and the disorganized goldmine of parts is now gone, however there
