Services
The Lucas Vineyards story begins in 1974 when Ruth Lucas and her family moved from the Long Island to a 68 acre farm in Interlaken, New York. Rooted in the family was a common dream of creating a successful family business through grape growing in the Finger Lakes region which was just starting to thrive.
With more than 100 wineries across Upstate NY, the NY State Finger Lakes wine region is growing. Lucas Vineyards has been celebrating the love of wine with family and friends on Cayuga Lake since the beginning. Lucas Vineyards should be your destination while visiting the Finger Lakes region.

For more than 37 years, the Lucas Family has been proud to have grown and produced award-winning wines while fostering a family of customers, friends, and wine enthusiasts. At Lucas Vineyards, the experience we provide our customers is what sets us apart. We pride ourselves on celebrating every visitor who comes through our doors.
By entering Lucas Vineyards' Wine Store, you affirm that you are of legal drinking age in the country where this site is accessed. Select a state listed above and provide an alternate shipping address in that state during checkout. We can ship merchandise (not wine) anywhere in the United States. Please note: Online orders are generally processed & shipped within 2-3 business days.
As the grape vines matured, so did Ruth's ambition and ideas. She embraced guidance from fellow grape growers and wine makers to develop her abilities as a regionally recognized vintner and as one of the first female winery owners in the area. In 1985, she led Lucas Vineyards, teamed with 2 other wineries on Cayuga Lake, to co-found the Cayuga Wine Trail; the oldest and longest running wine trail in the United States.
At Lucas, we hand pick all of our Vinifera grapes and use a machine harvester for our hybrids. Vinifera varieties grown on our farm include Riesling, Gewurtztraminer, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Pinot Noir. Hybrids grown include Cayuga White, Vidal Blanc, Seyval Blanc, Noiret, and Vignoles.

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago, and while the scenery is very nice, the staff ruined the whole experience. We showed up for a family wine tour and as we walked inside, we were told we were told they couldn't accommodate us (which could easily be understandable) and told us straight forwardly we have to leave. We complied and as we walked out, one of the staff members called my family member a very derogatory term which I do not want to put online saying he looked like said word. As this was heard by multiple people walking out of the building, we discussed among each other how rude

My family and friends attended this winery as part of a tour last weekend. When we tried entering with 8 people we were asked if we had reservations? We obviously did not so my friend Kayla replied that, and was meet with rudeness from both the women working the front. So we decided to leave. Then one woman whispered Something inappropriate to the other. After the comment I told them I would be leaving one star on google and the two women chased me outside yelling and screaming at me. They hurled insults like " your a sad person" "your immature" "your outfit should get one star" "were a family

Fantastic spot for the wine lover. Beautiful scenery in this part of New York. The selection of wine is nice from sweet to dry. I also love the gift shop with delicious food selections. Will definitely be back to this lovely spot very soon. A must visit if you are a wine person!!

This place yelled at us as soon as we entered the door it was quite un nerving. You expect that kind of behavior from a child. We had a group of six and asked if we could sit three and three. We were told our group could not without a reservation. Afterwards we went to the website to file a complaint about the two rabid hostesses and stumbled across big bold writing that states NO RESERVATIONS. You can not make this up. We then left after being called idiots by a different hostess in tie die clothing. For a place that touts such long history you would guess the customer service would be mature

My family has been coming here for years as they are local to the finger lakes area- we had an extremely unfortunate experience with the staff. Lucas Winery as no integrity and clearly had no issues with losing their loyal members/customers with petty matters. Don't both coming here, there are SO many other great wineries nearby.

While the location is cute, unfortunately the staff is quite rude. It was disappointing to have such a bad experience there as we saw it was so well reviewed! There are many other wineries in the area with just as good wine (and for a better price!) with much better customer service.

Rude staff - refused service after asking about coupons.

Our large bachelorette group had coupons for tastings which had no expiration date on them, but we were told they were expired. Their explanations as to why they wouldn't honor the coupons were rude and condescending. "Call the coupon police"

Even after all of this, we were still open to staying and paying full price, but were told that we "clearly wouldn't enjoy the experience" there and that we should leave.

I'm guessing their wine is just as sour as their staff

If you're a person of color you will be looked up and down as if you will start some trouble. Not worth the visit- not a friendly establishment, rude people working.

We walked in and inquired about the tasting, host explained everything but, when I asked how much it was she got offended. Sorry that is the one thing you should mention first.
The tasting was ok, I understand the whole covid issue. So how they do it is cute.

Maybe it was the dreary rainy day, or the fact that his was winery #4 on our stop, but sadly not too much stood out as wow from this winery. The girls working there seemed to not care much about their jobs or the fact that they were there. The wine was just eh. Most of them tasted too bitter or bland (didn't know that was possible with wine?) for our liking. We started by sharing one flight but then my friend wanted to try more whites so we added another. Seemed like we should have stopped after the first.
One nice thing is they give you a "welcome" taster which is basically the

We walked in and we're not greeted at all. Walked around the shop a bit and there was a tasting area that looked like a cafeteria. Two gentlemen were at a table and were chatting with the server. Chatter about not being vaccinated against Covid (server wore no mask) and how it hit the industry - about 10 minutes go by. Nothing about wine - just covid. She says she's not even interested in working. No acknowledgement of us - still. We are the only other people there until one gentleman walks in. There are about 5 other tables and all are cleared except one. Server tells her customers

Such a cute experience! You pick for wines to taste they pick one extra for you! And then give you a cute set of your wines and you pour them into your wine glass and try them like a self guided try. It was great! I would suggest!

I stopped here, along with several other wineries along the Cayuga lake wine trail.

Lucas Vineyards was definitely one of the more crowded ones when I went. They were doing a bit of crowd control and did put a sign out front when they reached 'capacity' but it still was decently crowded in their indoor area (and I'm mentioning this because I visited in October 2020....) Inside you select the tastings and food you want and pay. They give you a table sign and ask that you seat yourself outside and your order will be brought over to you. This was pretty convenient. Outside spacing

They're racist. Showed up and someone else (not in my group) stole a bottle of wine and the employee stated "it was those brown people." Gross. Threatened to call police and was being discriminatory.

First stop on our Holiday Cayuga wine tour. Tasting room building has beautiful vista like views of Lake from outside venue. Tasting room has a boardwalk/beach appeal to it with decor much might like one would imagine in a lighthouse by the shore. Our wine attendant was fun and bubbly and was very generous with our sampling’s. Enjoyed this as a kickstart to our tasting day along Cayuga!

Of all the times we've been this way winerying, this was our first time here. We came on the Sunday after Independence Day, and it was a steady flow of tasters, with Luna Food Truck out back, but that's another review. Nice view with a few peaks at the lake through the trees. Lots of outdoor places to relax, eat, and drink. There are a few games to partake while you enjoy your leisurely visit. Wines are very good and reasonable in price. Fun crew and a relaxing place to return to.

This winery is always a favorite. Considering my first wine was the Lucas Tugboat Red, this winery hold a special place in my heart. Our tasting guide was very friendly and knowledgeable gablin all the wines that Lucas has to offer. I go to this winery each time I tour cayuga lake and so should you! Michayla was an excellent wine tasting expert!

Every time that I have gone here the staff has been horrible. I don't know why it is like that but its unfortunate. There are other places around that actually want your business. I have yet to buy anything from this place because every time I go back its the same service. It reminds of groundhogs day because it is the same every time.

We always love coming here! We love the wines and it's a friendly atmosphere. Our first visit 2-3 years ago was the most fun and welcoming, but that great first experience keeps us coming back for more. We really enjoy the wines, and highly recommend the sangria recipe... we find making our own is even better than the one they have started to bottle. The view is beautiful of course, as well. We always take a family photo on our way out. The shop has some fun trinkets as well. I love their wine caps/stoppers as well.

I had a great time at this one - their tasting was a little confusing, but we ended up tasting a pretty solid number of wines, for not very much money ($3 a person). It was super chill (though we were there midweek - might not be on the weekend), and all the wine we tried was at least "good". Their off-dry Reisling was one of the tastier Reislings in that style I tried that trip.
