We recently used a private room and the terrace for a wedding rehearsal dinner followed by a reception for all arriving wedding guests. We received excellent advice and attention to detail when planning the events. The food was excellent at both events. The wines available from the wine list were interesting – not the typical ones we see everywhere. The wines selected were very popular with the guests. A beautiful charcuterie board for the reception was much appreciated. Staff were all excellent, both at the dinner and during the reception.

We stayed at the New London Inn for my husband's 50th birthday in December. We could not have been happier with our choice. Coming from MA, we wanted to go somewhere quiet and New London was the perfect spot. The Inn was clean, comfortable and quaint. The staff was friendly and welcoming and we had lovely conversations with many of them, including the innkeeper herself.
The room itself had a very comfy bed (I usually can't sleep away from home but the 2 nights we spent there were 2 of the best sleeps I had!) and wonderful sheets and pillows. The claw foot tub was an absolute delight and I had

I had not been to the Inn in many years. The experience was exceptional. Service, atmosphere and food quality all exceeded expectations. Artichoke Pear soup was completely unexpected. Very delicate combination of flavors and very nicely prepared and presented. Hanger Steak (med rare) was awesome, seasoned appropriately and cooked perfectly. Baklava desert was super good! Wine list is diverse and thoughtful. Appreciated that our server offered a tasting pour of a suggested wine. Nice service touch.
Thank you Coach House for a really great dining experience.

I love the charm and history of this beautiful Inn! Outstanding customer service at the front desk, and throughout our stay, by MaryCarol, Hayley, Courtney and Samantha. We enjoyed the delicious new menu in the restaurant, with great service by Cohl, along with fabulous drinks made by bartender Brooke. Restaurant manager Jordan went above and beyond to ensure all was well with our meal and overall stay at the Inn. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!

It was a rare evening not having our daughter and I decided to take my wife out for dinner. We have never been here before but saw great reviews on Yelp. We did not make reservations but saw plenty of open tables upon arrival. When we entered we were greeted and asked if we had a reservation. The hostess had to check with the manager to see if we could dine. After a few minutes we were seated. There was mostly an older crowd dining. Nice ambience as there was linen on the tables with a cloth napkins. Great menu and wine list. The food was excellent. The Portabella mushroom appetizer was to die

I reserved the table for two on Sunday on TableAgent and received the email confirmation. To be on the safe side, my husband decided to call to confirm. To our surprise, the person who answered the phone, Ashley, said that they did not have our name of the reservation list and promised to call back. However, we have never received the call. It surely is a sign that they do not care about their customers. If I have had a choice, I would not not given any star at all.

We had a fabulous meal at the Coach House Restaurant last night. The staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating. We ate in the bar area which is very attractive with soft lighting under the bar itself - very cool decor. The mushroom risotto was divine - with just the right amount of wild mushrooms served in the al dente pasta - with just the slightest hint of tarragon. Others in our party had the Icelandic cod - nicely crispy on the top - and even the fries were delicious! Drinks were good size and the wine by the glass is a nice pour! I would return as often as I could! Wouldn't

I recently got married and used the New London Inn for guest lodging, lunches and "after hours" party. Many of my guest came in from California and were all talking about how quaint the rooms at the New London Inn were. I just read a few other reviews and was surprised at some of the comments. The Inn is and has always been a quaint, comfortable New England Inn. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the housekeeping staff worked hard for my group keeping everyone happy. The location is second to none and everyone enjoyed being able to visit the multiple restaurants within walking distance

First off I rarely give 5 stars. I believe that doing your job does not warrant 5 stars but that rating should be reserved for going above and beyond in some aspect. This place is well definitely worth it in every regard. First let me preface. it is NOT your typical overnight hotel. If you are looking for the pool, bellhop, or run of the mill hotel, this is NOT your place. However, if you are looking for a true Inn experience this is it! The character of the Inn is second to none. The outside is landscaped meticulously and the wrap around porches with rocking chairs just scream have a seat! You

I visit the New London Inn weekly for dinner and it is by far the best restaurant in town. They've been experimenting with the menu and adding some delicious new things. The service is amazing and the entire staff takes care of you during your visit. The bar tender even saved some wine for me that she thought I would like. I can't say enough things about this gem in New London.

I stayed at the New London Inn for a week while in the area for business. It is a charming inn full of history. My room was perfect and the staff took care of me during my 5 night stay. I've stayed at many hotels in the region and this is by far the best. The inn is in the center of town, walkable to many things and has a great restaurant. Can't wait to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. It is located in the New London Inn, which is a nondescript structure in a long line of other nondescript structures, but it is clean and decorated with actually good (or better) local art for sale. It is tasteful without being pretentious. Our server was real, I.e. appropriately helpful without being saccharine or solicitous. The gelato was particularly awesome. We would return.

Our dinner tonight was superb. The pork tenderloin and scallops were outstanding. We planned on being out in the garden, but it was too cold. They moved us to a separate room where there was lots of spacing and we were very comfortable. We used to eat at Oak and Grain, but they have really lost their focus on customer satisfaction. We have eaten here two times since August and really feel we have found a new home for fine dining in New London. Great food, service and real sensitivity to the needs of their diners. So happy to have found a restaurant that puts their customers first.

The tavern at the Coach House Restaurant has a nice cozy vibe. The menu has a good variety of items, we went for the burgers and they were delicious! Instead of the fries we opted for a side salad which was also just as good. The selection of wine is good and our chocolate trio dessert was decadent. I also have to mention the restaurant staff who were very accommodating. They were full with reservations and we didn't have one but they managed to get us a table. We will definitely be back.

The new lounge is lovely and they make a terrific dirty martini. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is terrific. It's a perfect date night spot. The wine list has a nice variety of offerings as does the dinner menu. Everything we had was tasty and well prepared The service is on pointe and attentive without being intrusive. I have heard they make a mean burger but we haven't had the opportunity to try one yet. We will definitely be back.

I grew up here and yet this was only my second visit. Chicken satay was a bit bland, the slaw it was in was watery too. Pesto, gnocchi, pork loin special was delicious as was the horseradish cod. Watermelon salad also a tad bland. Hanger steak was delicious as well. Service was fantastic. Super friendly and professional. Nice atmosphere inside although it might be nice to add some better seating for six or more instead of a round table that makes it hard to talk to one another. I'd love to go again!

Great place for dinner. Very nice decor and friendly service. You can go dressed up or a little more casual. We visited in January, so dressed appropriately for cold weather. The place was decorated for the holidays and the fireplaces were all lit creating a nice atmosphere.
We had the Asian duck sausage for an appetizer which was delicious. My wife had the scallops over beet slaw which she said was wonderful. I had the flank steak with pepper rub and touch of mustard, which was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. We will be back.

Had dinner with guests this past week.
The food was very good, but the sever seemed to be off her game.
We ordered drinks and then told the vodka we asked for was not available. Fine, we asked what do you have? She came back with the list and we placed the order and then she came back and said that brand was no longer available.
We agreed on another brand they we e sure they had...not the end of the world, just a little strange.
What was stranger is we got the check while we were still waiting for dessert which the arrived 5 minutes later.
We had the cod and the filet...done perfectly

Hate giving bad reviews on places local but feel the need to be truthful to help others. Over all I'd say things were mediocre to below standard. I went here on my anniversary, we'd been here a while back when it was under a different name and had a good time. Place was quite busy, maybe because there was a show going on down the street at the theater or because of the rain. We were greeted by our waiter who didn't seem to have much enthusiasm overall. I don't recall him coming back any time during the meal to see how food was. Bread was ok, southwestern butter was mehhh

We have eaten here, several times, with my family, when attending events at Colby Sawyer College. The service, and the food is always amazing, and the last time we were there, our entire meal was covered by our "Celebration Package" (including appetizers and champagne and breakfast)
Being there in the winter, the whole place is decorated like something out of a Charles Dickens novel, and it is absolutely fabulous. If you want a "New England post card" experience, definitely add this place to your list!
And DO NOT skip the truffle fries!!! We usually eat at least two servings

We ate here for breakfast and for dinner. The food was very good. The service was friendly but amateur, with orders not coming out correctly, missing items, missing napkins, etc. Of the entrees we tried I thought the pork tenderloin with spaetzle and purple cabbage was the best -- nice complementary flavors, and bits of bacon tossed in. My steak was cooked medium-rare as ordered, was tender and had good flavor but would have benefited from seasoning - pepper, salt, anything. We noticed that nothing was salted as much as we are used to and decided we should go with it -- healthier anyway. The
