Veteran services may be comprised of any of our service options, and include service members of the respective U.S. Military branch offering modified Funeral Honors at the service location. The veteran's family may select a private cemetery or a qualifying state or national veteran's cemetery for interment of the veteran, spouse and dependent children.
A traditional funeral usually consists of a visitation or viewing, followed by some sort of service, then burial (or less traditionally, cremation). A visitation or viewing is a gathering of family or friends prior to the funeral service. Some cultures call this a wake as well. The difference between the often-interchangeable terms of "visitation" and "viewing" is whether the casket is closed or open, respectively.

Best Experience I could have imagined. Borgwardt Funeral Home was empathic, accommodating, honest, & caring. They gave us such a welcoming experience, and made my father’s funeral and viewing easy to manage. Their team was always in communication, and made sure I always felt supported. From travel across states-to ensuring my family got to be involved in the process, everything was a 10 out of 10. Thank you very much to Cathy, Diego, Jairo, & Donna. We appreciate you and the rest of the team.

It was a pleasure to work with Borgwardt Funeral home. My grandmother recently passed and it was our first time experiencing the unexpected death of a close family member. Needless to say, it was an emotionally difficult thing to experience especially during a pandemic. We knew almost nothing about the funeral process but Diego provided the guidance and empathy every step of the way. We were so relieved to know that he was willing to genuinely help us and answer all the questions we had. On behalf of my family, we want to extend our thanks to Diego, Emmy, and other staff members who were involved

Losing my mother in November 2020 was not an easy thing. But I must say that Donna and her staff were AMAZING! Donna walked me thru this process and never cared about all the questions I had. She was the sweetest, most caring person. Everything was handled very quickly. Very nice and clean facility. Would definitely recommend using their services!!

Thank you to the staff at Borgwardt Funeral Home for their kindness and patience in dealing with a difficult situation. Cathy was so wonderful and understanding when we were setting up initial arrangements, and provided all the information we needed to make our decision to have our family member's service there. Since she couldn't be present during the day of the memorial service, she turned us over to Jessy.
Jessy made sure that all our needs were taken care of the day of the service and the following day at the burial. We really appreciated her attentiveness and sympathy. It was a really emotional

Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home was the place that did exactly what I needed for my mother. They respected her with absolute dignity from the time she passed and they picked her up from our house to the time she was buried. Diego was my first contact and made me feel so at ease. He answered all my questions and ensured me that mom will be ok. Diego was real not phony like most of these other funeral home staff. He did everything that I wanted for my mother, during the time that was the hardest for me, and I thank him for that. I highly recommend Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home. This place to
